Just received mine this morning. Must admit, a little disappointed as a speaker. Seems very 'flat' (no pun intended) sounding to me. I guess I'm so used to the bright and wide-sounding Edge and BeoSound 2. You get so used to such a high standard, you drop down and immediately notice a big difference.
Good news indeed! Well done B&O.
That doesnt entirely surprise me.
I'm pretty sure you'll be happy with it in the end partnered with a TV (not sure if you have it connected to one yet).
But in isolation, I wouldn't conflate its positive reviews as a sound bar with it being a similarly good standalone speaker.
When your GX arrives, I'd love to see a picture of your installation - presuming you are wall mounting the GX.
If my 12-65 dies, a GX would be my ideal replacement, as the Eclipse design is still a little off to me, and the Harmony is absurdly chunky for a wall mount,
Anyway, pretty sure you'll be happy enough with the GX Stage combination when all is said and done - cant remember what speakers you used with your 12-65 before though, so cant comment on how much your audio experience is changing.

I use mine as a speaker and it's OK as a speaker. But as a Soundbar connected to my Apple TV (I tested it but can't use it since I have my Sony OLED on a table and there is no clearance for a sounder) it sounds amazing. the 3D effects for movies is pretty incredible IMHO. I have neither of your speakers so can't compare but neither can handle the 5.1 and Atmos audio that the Stage does.
B&O in my life 😊:

It's finally coming Saturday! Not sure when it will go up though. Sky keep putting my Sky Q installation back. They were due 2 weeks ago, put it off to today, phoned this morning to say they would be here later that morning, then phoned 20 minutes later to day that it's raining, so they can't go on the roof, so need to put it off another week!

Interestingly, you can connect the Stage to the BV11 wirelessly and the audio quality is better from the Stage than the 11-40. No delay, either.
Definitely sounds better as a TV speaker.
The bass and 3D sound effects for movies are great on the Stage - it is surprisingly good bass for such a thin speaker. The Stage paired with an LG GX looks very similar to the LG W wallpaper TV, except the Stage sounds better and looks much better as well. The difference in sound from the Stage as a stereo speaker vs TV speaker might be the DSP tuning. It sounds amazing for movies with an Atmos audio track. You won’t be disappointed.

Just checking: you've played with the various presets and their parameters, right? Sorry if this is an obvious question - but it might be the solution to your problem....
Cheers-geoff

I've seen the CX and GX in the flesh yesterday. I like the GX housing much more than the CX and previous versions . More sturdy and looks better, Imho. It explains why there they need a different (vesa) bracket to mount the panel to the Harmony's soundcentre.
But there is a small minor detail. The B&O software isn't available for the CX and GX yet at this moment in LG's app store. I'm also told that the delivery of the panels are delayed.

For sure! I had a good play with the B&O app. It's a superb speaker, just the Edge and BS2 have a 'cleaner' and wider sound and I'm just used to this. A B&O dealer described the Edge as having an 'American sound' and I can see where they are coming from. High highs, low basses.

Yep. I had to cancel my GX order with my B&O dealer. It was already 2 weeks late and they emailed on Tuesday and said it's now not expected for another 9-10 days.
I ordered from John Lewis who still had some in stock and bought the Stage + Remote from the B&O dealer.
I guess as the GX doesn't have the app support, this means the BeoRemote won't control the TV?

Mikipidia:Providing it works the same was as the harmony with the cx/gx panels, take a usb drive to your dealer and he’ll be able to upload firmware on it that’ll make it work with the lg remote and stage.
The dealer isn't even open :)

At the dealer's the CX was already wall mounted above a Stage and a GX was standing next to a Harmony, waiting for the bracket.
It's just a matter of time that the B&O app will be in the LG appstore, I was told.

The app is already in the appstore: https://gb.lgappstv.com/main/tvapp/detail?appId=955120&catCode1=&moreYn=N&cateYn=N&orderType=0&headerName=&appRankCode=&sellrUsrNo=
I don't think this is the issue. I think the CX/GX need a firmware upgrade to work with the B&O app according to my dealer and that is 'coming soon' (approx mid-July).

If you search through the LG appstore on the CX, you won't find the B&O app. At the C9 no problem and that works. Odd.I assume that it's then a general firmware for all LG panels?

Yep, that's what I meant above. The app is available, but the CX/GX require LG to update the firmware to support it, which is going to be around mid-July.
