Are there any other compatible media servers other than Twonky? Thanks!

BS Moment, BS Core, BG 4002, BC 4500, BS1, BL18, BL19, BL8000 + RCV1, A6, M5, M3, A1, P6 (tks Botty), H5, TR1
Thanks. I have an iMac. So I need something compatible with that. The problem with Twonky is they went bankrupt and there are no software updates. I’m having problems with my iTunes playlists
Minimserver works on OSX
I think Minimserver manages m3u playlists, so would require iTunes playlist export, not as integrated as Twonky was ... when working
I don't know if the Moment would see playlists exposed by Minimserver, never tested, but I see no reason why not.
Thanks. Minimserver requires Java. I can't download Java.

Why so?
Apple says it’s not trusted & high risk for virus & will not let me download. I downloaded FireStream yesterday and it is working perfectly. All my music shows/plays that are in my iTunes playlists. Thanks for all your help.

You can download it without problems! Just did it. But when installing you get a typical Apple message.
What Apple does: "It's not an Apple app-store item", so it says it can't be trusted. But can't it be trusted????
To install it anyway, right click the Java 8 update 251 icon and choose "Open". If you find it trustworthy you can open and install Java.
NB: do you know how many devices running Java? Do a search..........
Is it a good idea to buy a second hand Moment for this:
- Listen to the radio
- Listen to music stored in a Beomaster 5
i don’t have deezer or spotify. The Moment could replace a Beosound 5
Thanks

Wow! So, not a very good idea 😒
seethroughyou:I can’t but help feel very disappointed with the Moment and B&O and would now be very reluctant and wary to ever spend money on a similar product. Pattern play still not working and the general use and stability between the tablet and dock is atrocious. I recall the dealers gently guiding me to other products but what they were actually doing was steering me well away from the Moment when I enquired about it. I should have read between the lines and picked up on this cue but like some crazy B&O nutter I was blinkered to their subtle steering. What a waste of money and all the hours trying to get it to work properly. It’s left such a bitter taste that sometimes I just want to throw it away and forget about it. It’s presence now serves as an alarm in the morning to play radio. A glorified alarm clock (when it works).
I totally understand you. I deeply regret my Beosound Moment (and my Beosound 35) purchase til today, too.

Couldn't agree more!!!!
If my Moment tablet shows this phenomenon (once or twice a year), I let the battery drain completely, put it back on the Moment and do a reset of the tablet.
Until now it ALWAYS came back to life.
And though I disliked the use and sw at the start, I now use the Moment on a daily base much to my satisfaction.
I bought the Moment immediately after launch.
I even visited the Moment press launch at CES in Las Vegas
Agree with all posters that Moment was not a good product until the firmware was re-done. After that I really enjoyed Moment and it very much fulfilled the purpose that I had when I initially purchased Moment.
When it was discontinued I got some assurances from people inside B&O that bugfixing and fixes for providing the services running would be provided. That obviously is no longer the case.
I sold my Moment April last year.
I think B&O miss-judged the market demand for such a product. High price, low demand, and crappy software must have created a challenge for the dealers.
Livingroom: BL3, BL11, BV11-46 Kitchen: Beosound 1 GVA, Beocom 2 Bathroom: M3 Homeoffice: M3, Beocom 2 Library: Beosound Emerge, Beocom 6000 Bedroom: M5, Essence remote Travel: Beoplay E8 2.0, Beoplay EQ, Beoplay Earset
The Moment is prob the biggest disappointment from B&O ever. I tried to talk myself into buying one but it made no sense for the costs alone. when I heard what a software disaster it really was I'm glad I never got it.
I did make a much better alternative though for 1/5 the cost.
Get this Yamaha wxc-50. You can connect almost any B&O speaker to it on the pre-out:
https://usa.yamaha.com/products/audio_visual/wireless_streaming_amplifiers/wxc-50/index.html
Then use your iPhone or even buy the best iPad money can buy to replicate the Moment. Except you get a system that is much much cheaper and works 10000x better in every way.
There is also software for Mac to control the Yamaha.
Other than it doesn't have wood on one side ;)

Thanks to all for your answers. Moment is definatly not a good idea.
I will keep the BeoSound 5. Very sad that B&O doesn’t have a true audio system anymore.
I know the market wants headphones and wireless speakers but for me, nothing can beat a real stereo hi-fi system 😊
