Hello,

Is there anything known about wether there will be a new BeoSound Stage with PUC support in the near future or not? For me the Stage is a great product but as it lacks PUC it really makes it more cumbersome to use as a replacement.

I want to replace my lovely BeoPlay V1-40 (anyone need one?) as I don't think my wall can carry the weight of it. I have the floor, table and the roof mount too but I feel that it takes too much space in the small space I use it.

If I do that, then I need the following:

• Good speaker (Hence the stage)

• Nice TV with less weight

• PUC integration for Apple TV and IPTV box.

For me it is so weird they let it out without PUC as it is such a small extra feature that makes a ton of difference. It is available in the BeoSound part of the eclipse and harmony so it shouldnt be that hard to incorporate in a product as the Stage.

Maybe I should wait with replacing my TV or just get something else and live with ugly remotes instead of using a single BeoRemote One (I really do not want that...).

Beolab 50, Beolab 8000 x 2, Beolab 4000 x 2,
BeoSound Core, BeoSound 9000, BeoSound Century,
BeoLit 15, BeoPlay A1, BeoPlay P2, BeoPlay H9 3rd Gen, BeoPlay H6, EarSet 3i,
BeoVision Eclipse Gen 2 55", BeoPlay V1-40,
BeoCom 6000 and so much else :)

I would just wait, you love your V1, it looks great in white, it has PUC (you like that too), and the BROne (you like that too).

I'm sure the wall can take it.

If you replace it you will mount a replacement TV on the wall and also the Stage on the wall.

Out of interest i did see the LG GX (the gallery version 10)  unboxing and that sits very flush with the wall and has an interesting bracket, but that's only in larger sizes.

The apple tv works perfectly for me over cec, so no need for puc imho.

Which iptv service do you have? Most will have an app and mine works just fine on the lg c9.

So imho puc isn’t all that needed really unless you have a settop box that’s mandated by a provider with out cec.

Does the beoremote one control Apple TV via the LG system over CEC?

I have à Telia box from motorola VIP 1003 but it Will be replaced by an arris 4xxx box and Telia does not support Cec on either. And they don’t have an app for webOS, but they do have one for Apple TV.

Very true but I need to change my furniture and want to make a bigger all in upgrade but hm I’ll wait and see maybe.

CX is much more expensive than the C9 but I would also like it, honestly mainly due to the interface being more square than the sillier looking C9 interface.

In case you really want to get rid of the V1 (why shouldn’t your wall could handle that)........go for an LG GX, when that will be available with the Stage.

Just run everything off the ATV4K connected to the LG and controlled via CEC.

You probably won’t need that Arris box, if there is a native tvOS app for your tv service.

One reason for keeping the V1 however, would be the ability to have a proper 5.1 setup.

MM

There is a tv - and there is a BV

The V1 is very heavy and requires very demanding mounting to work on a thin gypsum wall. I had it like so in my old home but it wasn’t fun to fix the wall after all those bolts and holes was left.

It is a good tv but I want to step up the size a bit as well. But all in all it’s a great tv and I like it a lot, especially for it’s design and the sound quality.

I do miss a few features for sound in my bedroom and that is easy to use speakers to wake up to or play music from without having to turn a tv on. I guess the stage would be useful in this case.

I’ve also been considering just getting a Sonos arc and a tv with an Apple TV. Then I get more or less the same and I get a smaller remote that is very usable too. Perhaps even better than using a stage with a BeoRemote one.

Also the CX/GX has the built in Apple TV (app) so you wouldn’t need a separate Apple TV box.

That is one of the main differences between the 9th gen from what i was reading.

I will have to look again to see the difference between the interfaces Mike (square).

The br1 controls everything in my bedroom, stage lg m3 aptv.

Cec via lg with br1 to aptv almost works like it’s a native app so i only have one remoteSmile

...and I can confirm that even LG OLED C9 has the Apple TV app and it works nicely. On top, I do have the Apple TV box connected as well to one of TV's HDMI ports and I'm controlling it via BR1.

Very cool. :)

What difference do you experience with the two ATV?

I have only one ATV. I use it to run some streaming apps like Eurosport Player, ATP Tennis TV etc.

The other thing on LG TV is the Apple TV App which is essentially Apple TV+, some streaming services and some content providers.

I know but that app is only for streaming Apple TV content not a tvOS environment with the fly over screensaver etc. and except for that it is also HomeKit comparible and AirPlay 2 comparible so it does a lot the Apple TV does so it makes it in a way less necessary.
