Hello All,
Has anyone found a successful way to remove the brushed metal strip from a Beogram 4002 dust cover without bending it? I have a Beogram 4002 dust cover that I bought on ebay and was pretty excited to find it in such good condition, some normal scratches but nothing I couldn't sand and polish out. Unfortunately I discovered the plastic that the metal hinge attaches was broken on one side. I do have another dust cover which I was going to replace with the one from ebay. It would be really nice if I could get the good strip off and put on the other dust cover.
John
Hi John,
Yes. Beolover recently posted a blog entry on how to do that.

Hello John,
Thanks for responding to my post and directing me to Beolover's blog entry. Looking at the process makes me consider if I have the courage to try removing the brushed metal strip on the good dust cover that I took so much time polishing. Putting it in the oven is the bit that makes me nervous. I will try taking off metal strip from the one on the cracked dust cover first and see how that goes.
Much appreciate your help.
There is a UK member of the site who can provide very good replacement aluminium strips for Beogram hoods.......can’t remember offhand what his name is but if you search he is out there 😉
I have sent you an email with the members email address if you choose to contact him

Hello all, I am the member who can reproduce the the aluminium strip for the 4000/4002.4004 and 6000 turntables. I can emulate whatever lettering you have on your particular turntable. The finished item is next to indistinguishable from the original.
Please drop me a message for your requirements.
