I would say the BV4, I think this product is so non-B&O like in the design. When I think of B&O if first think of great designs. BV4 is not one of them.
And it is far to expensive also.
wonderfulelectric: Oh don't forget about the old Beosound 2. Love the design but what's with the limited file compatibility? The last I remember it can't even playback full-res CD files without glitches.

Not that resale is the end all when it comes to good vs bad products, but this "obsolete" mp3 player sells for $200 on ebay (not just wishful listing, but actual recent sales). How much do 10 yr old iPods go for? I still use mine a couple times a month (train or plane). Yes, I could use my phone, but prefer to save its battery for phone stuff, and the fact it is still going strong (I did replace the battery) after 10yrs makes me smile.

BeoBoy68: Beoplay A3 definitively !! Why to hide a beautiful iPad tablet ?
Beoplay A3 definitively !! Why to hide a beautiful iPad tablet ?
Well, I've tried and tried but I can't narrow "B&O's current worst product" down to less than about 5 choices - sorry!
Schlaumeier:BeoPlay
Tried it? Or it's just the design that put you off?

I'd be interested in knowing which ones, even if it's not just one. And why, of course.
I agree about the beoplay stuff being awful.
why are they even bothering ?
No, no. You must install your ipad with the screen to the front side. Just turn it round.
Now your ipad is not hidden anymore, you can see the screen, and you can control it via touchscreen ....
Sorry, but...and the real answer is, because the ipad just sounds awful, and the A3 turns it into a nearly (!) perfect tablet.
Stefan
I agree that the A3 should not be on the list.
... from the OP:
9 LEE:However, there must be a product int he current line-up which you really think is rubbish, pointless, badly designed, not really fit for it's purpose ?
1.) Rubbish: No / very well made.
2.) Pointless: No / it has as much a raison d'être as any current product -if not more.
3.) Badly designed: No in form / deceivingly simple yet complex -is its beauty. Yes somewhat in function / because it is "tipsy."
4.) Not really fit for its purpose: No, it is what it is as they say. Nothing more, nothing less.
And now my vote...
Beo5/6
most useless >> A3
most ugly >> Beoplay
Gatex:most useless >> A3
Why?

Not true.... it's the best paper weight B&O ever made.
Honestly the worst consumer product ever to come from B&O with the most ridiculously overcomplicated way to program and get working. Is by no means ergonomic and absolutely not intuitive. Looks pretty though....but my beo5 is an expensive paperweight....
Simbohm:Beocom5 is THE worst product B&O I have owned. Here's why 1. Line disconnects on calls 2. Creates static noise on calls - such that you have to disconnect and redial - sucks when you are a conference call moderator.... 3. Even with no other wireless base stations for over 60'(minimum), can be difficult to hear people when the phone is 4-6' away from base station. 4. Design shape is ok - not as good as other B&O phone designs 5. Speaker phone is designed to be portable - yet you have to unplug it - way to pedestrian for a B&O product - why could it not have a docking base to power. On the plus points - two lines, great speakerphone, you can have many phones with shared directories and you can customize each unit e.g. Don't ring line 2 between x and y hours etc. etc,

No 1. Doesn't happen to me (lucky exception?).
no 2. Doesn't happen to me (lucky exception?).
no 3. Doesn't happen within 20 ft. distance.
no 4. I totally agree.
no 5. Good idea, but could change the pricetag.
Software version 2.40 (for base and handset)
Line disconnects on call....happen to me too
I dont know what product is the worst on its own, but I do feel the Beoplay ipad speaker doesnt belong in the B&O lineup. The reason is that to me B&O should produce timeless products with nice design and good build quality/ sound quality. While I havent tested the ipad speaker, and therefore cant judge the quality, I can say its not timeless. Apple updates their products every year, about 50/50 making them better opposed to just changing the design to sell more accessories. I love apple products but they are as far from timeless as B&O are from producing a tractor, apples design is timeless but the user side/software has to evolve all the time as with every computer/tech brand.
The way I see it apple has always been the brand you go to if you want the most userfriendly and problemfree tech. But B&O was where you whent if you didnt want the tech, just the best experience, no matter what was inside. They share alot in their design/ philosophy but apple should make you want to buy next years products while B&O should make you save up to put your parents stereo in your dorm room. B&O should be somthing the grandchildren fight about in the will, not something that changes design every year.
In short B&O products should not need to be upgraded every year. If you buy it you should be able to enjoy it until your kids puts it on fire :)
Looking at this thread, I can't help but wonder... Are there any good products?
Too long to list....
Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.
Chris Townsend:Beo4, Beolab 4/5/9, Beovision 7-55/11, Beoplay A8.
I take it that's meant as a reply to bayerische rather than an entry into the thread!
Ban boring signatures!
Electrified: I'd be interested in knowing which ones, even if it's not just one. And why, of course.
Off the top of my head:
Beolab 2: A booming, thumping abomination that I've always hated!
Beolit 12: When I saw it in the flesh I felt sure I could hear a strange noise coming from somewhere. Only later did I realise it was the sound of David Lewis turning in his grave..
Beolab 12: Putting a lump of shiny metal on the front of something is not 'styling'
Beoplay A9: Hmm, mono is the new stereo, is it?
Sorry, that's only four, unless you count the rest of the Beoplay range, all of which I simply dislike, probably irrationally. They remind me of the Beocenter 2100/2200/4000 'not proper B&O' shambles of the 1980s.
