Ipad interactive music control
how to connect with beosaund 5?
nobody knows anything about this ??
Thanks for the picture. Anything new on this?
I updated Beolink app on my ipad to 1.6, there is no update for MLGW, but the "interactive music control" doesn`t work.
And I can`t find the text "ipad interactive music control" anymore ..(?)
What`s happening here...????
Stefan
"New features
Updated for iOS 6 & iPhone 5 layout. Improved demo mode. Prepared for iPad music browsing on BeoMaster 5 with next ML Gateway release in March."
I read the news today, oh boy....
Greetings Millemissen
There is a tv - and there is a BV
the same for me
I am told the MLGW update will be end of the month or first of next.
Also, supposed to incorporate Spotify
MJM
if they enter this function, I will be super happy.'ve sent an email to B & O a year ago when I asked them to make beosaund 5 compatible to Spotify.
I'm the only family member who uses BeoSound 5 the rest using Spotify ,yousee music with apple tv :(
@beolion "....BS5 as the system already is on the network"
The BS5 (or rather the BM5) was NEVER "on the network" - but with the MLGW it can be a part of the network!
@claudiu You would need a BM/BS5-combo AND the MLGW for that - and the BeoLink-app !
Greetings MM
Millemissen: I read the news today, oh boy....
@Millemissen Clearly better news than " ... Four thousand holes in Blackburn, Lancashire ..."
Millemissen:but with the MLGW it can be a part of the network
Strange! I don't expect B&o would develop a new MLGW since NL is the future.
It is just an update.
NL is for Audio/Video - MLGW is for integrating Homeautomation with BeoLink.

Jeee, thanks for the explanation! But what if NL has replaced ML?
New B&o will have NL and no ML. So a NLGW would be expected!
But it is a strange reply because the thread started with the control of BM5/BS5 with the Beolink app; an audio product!
Now without kidding. You mean it will only be a sw update?
Of course MLGW is also for audio/video products.
Just read the manuals.
It is also NL compatible.
Read TheFAQ on Beo website.
Masterlink is not dead.
Think of the many people using ML in combination with MCL.
I wrote "...integrating Homeautomation with BeoLink."
Could as well have written "integrat.... with NL, ML and MCL"
Of cource you could rename the MLGW to BeoLinkGateWay - but that would not change anything.
NL is not supposed to control different homeautomation-installations and thus needs a GateWay to interface with BeoLink (NL/ML/MCL).
Kind regards Millemissen
Carolpa: 1 But what if NL has replaced ML? 2 New B&o will have NL and no ML. 3 So a NLGW would be expected!

1) Whenever in the future your system will be "pure NL", a (ML/NL) Beolink converter will do the job to integrate a MLGW beeing "the last ML component" of the system.2) True, but there are a lot of ML based systems "in the wild", many/most of them without a MLGW.3) A recent MLGW and a ML/NL-Beolink converter is an existing and working solution! As already "rumored", there are a lot of other issues to be solved in the near future to get a smooth transition from ML to NL before we can expect a "NLGW" - but maybe I'm wrong.
I thought MLGW will be built in future tv, and each will have to pay a "small " amount extra to open this function :)
At first I thought: NO WAY!
But then again: it's an interesting thought, why not!
NL is important because you can't distribute video over ML.
And because it will/could give us the opportunity to use multisources in multiroom.
And...
OK - "other brands" has been "doing it for years"..
But "other brands" has also produced tv's for years, and still we buy the ones, that B&O produces.
It is a matter of how things are being made/implemented.
That is why we hope that B&O will use "only IP based technology" in their products in a better way than the "other brands".
No reason to ditch ML - a ML based setup will be working well for years to come.
But technology and what we can do with it develops.
And no need to shout at NL - B&O even made a converter to please old costumers.
Which "other brand" would waste time on that?
Grrr! Millemissen
Millemissen:NL is important because you can't distribute video over ML.
No, but I expect it to develop in that direction!
Don't you?
B&O has bin telling us to use Cat7-cables for installation for some time now - because of better shielding and higher bandwith.
Why should we bother for Cat7-cables, if they aren't thinking of video too?
A quick search on the internet presents us for explanations like this:
"Says James Bundey, marketing manager, Asia Pacific, Molex Premise Networks, “The standards bodies are
pushing Cat 7 toward the home market. The reason for this is that the individually shielded pairs on Cat 7 cable
enable it to support multiple services/applications such as broadband, video, and data."
www.voicendata.com/voice-data/news/163101/toward-cat
Millemissen: Why should we bother for Cat7-cables, if they aren't thinking of video too?
An Atlona Pro 2/3 Matrix using HDbaseT technology can distribute via a single Cat6a/7 cable a full HD (1080p) signal up to 70m,send power over ethernet to remote HDMI<>RJ45 receiver nearby the TV and is also able to transmit IR commands received by theTV to the switcher.
Millemissen: The reason for this is that the individually shielded pairs on Cat 7 cable enable it to support multiple services/applications such as broadband, video, and data ...
... and, in a B&O installation, balanced (ML) as well as non balanced (PL) analogue signals.
Millemissen:No, but I expect it to develop in that direction! Don't you?
Hi Vienna,
1: I would say, the Atlona-thing (which - of cource - I already knew) is for those who can't (or couldn't) wait for BeoLink-NL to develop - and who have the money too
2: That sentence was a quote - not mine. Of cource I know that it is perfect for analog too!
Millemissen:Of cource I know that it is perfect for analog too!
@ Milemissen
Of course I know YOU know Just wanted to stress CAT 7 wiring is the way to build a multi-purpose "universal" network infrastructure.
@beolion "I am not sure I would use video distribution if I had NL."
Videodistribution with NL will be different than in times of ML.
F.ex. you will be able to pick up your content from a NAS, and choose where to play it - in one room or more - take it with you from one room to another. Look at a recording, you have made on one tv, on another (or more). All easily controlled with one app on a tablet.
What the BeoRemote can do today is just the beginning.
Sure you can have a TViX in each room - that is the best way to do it today.
Let talk of this again in a couple of years - to see if things have changed for you, and for me
Millemissen:Let talk of this again in a couple of years - to see if things have changed for you, and for me
He he, my mindset do change from time to time
I tell my wife every year, that I am finished with adjusting cables in the house and looking at B&O stuff, because everything is in place now.
But............things just happen, kind of automatic here where I live
However, it might be my first year since 2008 where I do not buy any B&O products, but if interesting things start to happen in Struer, then....I am looking forward to see what happens, and do follow a lot here on the Forum.
mjmedlo:Back to the topic. Does anyone know when the mlgw will be updated to match the new app update?
My information is MARCH - hopefully 2013
Any more updates on this matter? Is march 2013 still valid? Anyone (dealer?) that have tried it?
