My heart sinks......

One new poster is particularly good at winding people up, and one of the people who has been wound up was himself winding posters up in the past ( search the archive ).

One thing I will say about this forum is we perpetually have a "where has everyone gone?" thread every 6 months :)

Is it me, or do some new posters seem to go overboard and reply to every single thread? They then disappear for ages. Someone else then takes this mantle and becomes the Number 1 Poster for a few months. Very weird. I won't name names, but it does seem to be consistent. There always appears to be one mega-poster who is hell-bent on replying to everything, then just stops. I wonder if these people are B&O employees planted to get involved with the forum, then the task is passed to another employee? Wishful thinking, but it's just an observation.

I believe it's far simpler to explain that medically.

I lose interest and disappear for months on end especially if debates over basically personal preferences become contentous

I can only take so much conversation about Apple and bijoux flats and the needed integration of flux capacitors in our products.

Moxxey is correct about super-posters that surface and submerge. Seems one may have gotten locked in his Mini in his bijoux apartment with his mates. Perhaps the other will get trapped when his stack of separates collapses.

Then we can all resume participation. Until then I'll just keep grooming these sheep and biding my time.

You got a "laugh out loud" here in the US for that one.  You may have heard it in Europe!

I stopped posting because I realised how incredibly shallow and materialistic the forum was.  I realised that B&O was a slippers and pipe image company and was not for me. Simple as that!

Ouch.  Those of us who hang out almost exclusively on the vintage side - wait a minute - I started speaking for others.

I, who hang out almost exclusively on the vintage side, sincerely hope I do not come across as shallow and materialistic.  If I did, I hope it was simply excitement after scoring, say, a nice bit of kit from JaffBay.

Oh Rich, you know that's exactly us - sitting on the thick rug, playing sitar on our Beolab 5000 systems and passing the pipe. Whereas we could be rummaging through the sales at Selfridges for something that works with AirPlay.

(I don't actually know what Selfridges is, I just picked that up.)

I have a bad habit of writing very lengthy posts over things that I'm either passionate, or worried about.

Then I feel guilty for probably boring everyone, and shut up for a while.

I really dislike arguments, so prefer to sit on the sidelines and observe, rather than get involved.

I must try and master the drive by, one liner..... Smile

John...  Cool

I know, puncher its like pot and kettle. The only materialism and shallowness, was in pauls threads regarding designer fashion, minis and apple products.and how much more inteligent he is,I would say that was being shallow bumming yourself up as superior.

Anyways I am off to put the tartan slippers and housecoat on,before I sit down to listen to my old wireless I mean B&o system, pauls got me thinking as a pensioner.

When I was away I listened to my Beolab 5000 system a lot, though I don't remember any pipes or slippers being involved.

I actually became more materialistic and shallow and thought i'd come back to see what the old me used to be materialistic and shallow about, before watches and anything mid-century took over my life :P

Hi John

It's Nigel Weaver, not Wheeler! (That's assuming you meant me!)

Glad your studies are going well and you can see the light at the end...

I don't contribute much to the forum these days for various reasons, mainly

a) lack of time (also the reason for my ebay inactivity)

b) finding nirvana in my MS150's

c) becoming disillusioned with the forum content which culminated in this today :-

http://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/4619.aspx

So glad I found this thread - I might stick around!

Chris - I hope your recovery is speedy

Cheers

Nigel

PS -  I must pick those CX50's up!

The phrase is 'No show without Punch'. If you need to, Google it.  Then give it some thought.

Hi Nigel - please do. We had some interesting chats and rendezvous to exchange items to/from Tim over the years!

Things do seem to have tailed off from what I remember the atmosphere being like here, but hopefully the re-emergence of one or two might prompt some more lurkers back out of the woodwork.

Glad to hear all is well and sorry for getting your surname wrong!

Shallow and materialistic ?

How dare you ! I'll have you know I paid £27,000 for this diamond encrusted gold plated mouse mat and I consider it a bargain ! I'll put it in a pile along with my louis vitton jockstrap collection.
