The Beogram 5500 has a 7 pin din.
The only repair guy I can find here in the NoCal Bay Area only has 5 pin din stuff to be
able to test. Do I need to buy a 7pin din female to 5 pin din male adapter?
Thanks for any help you can give me.

Pins 1 and 7 should unscrew. Use either a very small screwdriver or do it gently with needle nosed pliers.

But take care not to lose them. You can't buy replacement removable pins for them.
