I'm considering buying a BV 10-40 and new to owning any B&O TV. Should I be buying, what is effectively a 10 year old TV and is there anything I should look out for?

Cheers

Hi Musicaltinkerer,

Beovision 10 is a beautiful piece of art but when you look at the product and sound quality I'm not impressed.

Beovision 11-40 is more expensive but is worth every extra penny in my opinion. Have a look at this thread which sums it up pretty well: (although the discussion is for the 46 inch a lot of the points are the same for 40)

I bought my BV 10-40 about 7 years ago and it is going strong and is superb. Great sound and picture, and I am really happy with it. I have it on the wall and in my humble view it looks beautiful!

Good luck and happy viewing, whatever you buy.

I owned a BV10-40 which feels like an eternity. I'm not convinced I'd recommend such an old TV. Why not look at the BV11-40 instead?

I moved up from a BV10-40 to 11-40 (later a 11-46) and never looked back. Apart from the BV10-40 orange fret which was stunning and they discontinued, the BV11-40 felt like an upgrade in many ways.

Soren, many thanks.

Clearly good advice, after reading from the link, there are more differences than I was aware of. Will definitely look at the 11. Very exciting prospect!

I fully agree with the above.

I did the same upgrade from 10-40 to 11-46.

I had my 11 some 7 years now and I’m still happy with the picture and the looks of the TV.

I see some really good deals on the second hand market, at least here in Sweden.

I have a BV10 40” that I bought new for almost 10yr ago and still very happy. The (lack of) sound is very subjective, it still beats many other TVs that are currently available on the market.

But I might withdraw the above when I have compared to a BV11 Big Smile
