Hello dear B&O fans,
I need your advice.
I have a used BL2000 that works perfectly fine with my BS9000 over a ML Cable.
I am trying to use it in the following configuration:
Bluetooth over Datalink adapter to the A.AUX entry of the Beolink Converter. Beolink Converter 1614 (SAME AS 1611?) to BL2000 over the ML cable.
On the Beo4, I added a A.Aux entry in the list. I can push whatever button I want, the light on the BL2000 stays on red.
What am I missing?

I am not totally sure, but you may need to put the BL2000 in L.OPT 6, and then select the 1614 by pressing one of the video sources (TV, DTV, V.MEM) on the remote.
To put it in L.OPT 6: With the BL2000 in standby, on the Beo4, press the POWER button and LIST together. Then press LIST until OPTION is shown, press GO (centre button), and then press LIST to show L.OPT. Then press 6. The power light on the BL2000 may blink to show that it has been accepted.

thank you very much for your advice. I followed your instructions and indeed the BL2000 did blink once. Interestingly, when I repeated the manoeuvre, it did not blink again
I then pressed all TV etc. buttons but the light on the BL2000 stubbornly stays on red.
I read the manual for the 1611 Beolink Converter, as well as the one for the BL2000 with no clue,
I added A.AUX and V.AUX, but still stays on red.
My understanding is that the BL2000 must be "told" that it is in a certain configuration (alone in the room) and the Converter 1614 must be also be "told" something. ON the pictures, the Converter is always linked with the ML to a video system, but not to speakers. Maybe I am asking it something impossible.
Any idea?

I have just done some more investigation and found this in the Mastlerlink handbook:
BeoLink Converter, type no. 1161466 cannot be used as an ML driver.
So unfortunately it looks like you will have to find a type 1611 to use with the BL2000.

I think I will separate my ML cable at the junction box and put a cinch cable on the open side, thus making a Cinch-Masterlink conversion cable.
I have read somewhere that the incantation to use with the magic wand Beo4 is:
Beo4 remote then press MENU 0 9 GO (up arrow) CD CD
Do you think this is correct?

And that's the correct Beo4 key sequence.
I still think a BL1611 would be a better solution if you can find one - perhaps set up the cinch as a temporary solution until you find one?
One other thing to investigate: The Oneremote company sell firmware updates for 1611 converters. It could be work contacting them to ask if new FW will convert a 1614 into a 1611. I managed to wire the cinch to the ML, and using the magic formula Menu 09 Go ^ CD CD , I even got it running a few times.
The wiring is just a proof of concept for me, I will order serious cables either from Keith or from a local Swiss guy.
One thing I noticed, is that the magic formula does not always do its trick, and I have to shut the BL2000 down, wait and try again. It is a bit touchy isn't?
Do you encounter the same difficulties or does the Menu 09 magic work every time for you?

Unfortunately I don't have a BL2000 any more so I can't test this - I was using memory and what I have learnt on the forum!
It may be worth checking that the BL2000 is in L.OPT 6, as I did find a thread where it states this is important in order to use Test Mode 9. See here: https://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/41991.aspx
I can announce that my little project was a full success!
I did indeed put the BL2000 in L.OPT6 and after several tries somehow got it in Test Mode 09.
Furthermore, I have no clue why I had to repeat several times the sequence on the Beo4 until it caught on.
Finally, my soldering skills need improvement, since I did not find a way to eliminate the 50Hz disturbance, but it is just a question of pride, and I will order real cables from professionals either Keith here or a young local supplier here in Switzerland.

How many times this must be said?The cable guy is Steve! Keith do IR code conversion and server reboots. Not to be mistaken with Dillen who makes rubber things!
