hi

im having an issue with my beogram 1600 and i have a ground hum

im unable to find anything out about this deck but know its basically the samr as the 1700 and 1900

anyway i seem the be getting continuity to ground from everywhere

left chanel continuity to ground

right continuity to ground

this is with the din pug removed from the cable

and since they all go to ground i get continuity from l to r as well

is this correct or not

it seems correctly wired here

When the deck is not playing, the left and right signals are both grounded by the muting switch.

Yes, it's a mechanical switch opetrated by the lift/lower actualtor arm.
It's right there in plain view in your photo with the leads soldered to it.
