Good morning everyone - I wonder if someone could help me.

First off - great forum and I am glad I found it - it has helped me out with another problem that I had !

This problem is to do with one of my Beocom 6000 handsets. I presume these are Mark 1 as I have the black dot on one of the keys and do not have a separate PSTN base station.

The handset can not find the base station. I press dot 7, scroll to register but it just hangs trying to find the station without success. I also press the little button on the base between the contacts to set it to register at the same time of course.

I have replaced the batteries with a new one and still no luck.

OK, so reading threads, it appears that there is a fault with the handset - can someone tell me how much this would cost to fix by an authorised B&O dealer as I see I can purchase a s/hand unit off the dreaded eBay for around £40 ish..

Many thanks in advance for any help - ideally by a dealer of course, unless anyone has any other ideas to try.

Best regards

Luke

PS I have made sure that there is not more handsets registered therefore going over the limit. I am in the UK.

I responded to a similar question a while back, here: http://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/1540.aspx

Hope this helps!  I decided that a second hand replacement was better than an expensive repair, especially as the latter would need me to upgrade the software in the base station to version 2.5
