Hi all,

Have a Beogram 3400 type 5703, with a "slow" motor.

Have purchased a servo-controlled motor from Beoparts .( Evidently the old version had an AC motor that is nothing like the newer Beogram 3400 servo -controlled motor.)

Will this servo-controlled motor be able to be fitted ?

Noel.

No,
The best solution is to have the original motor rebuilt, cleaned, reoiled etc.

Hi Martin,

Thanks for your response. The turntable had to be repaired (tonearm problem ) ,and the service centre said " Motor is slow at first, but then speeds up after a few minutes. Motor is obsolete and this cannot be improved".

That's why I bought another motor from Beoparts, but now there is doubt that the version I got won't work.

The version I have is the "newer"one i.e.servo-controlled motor- not the older AC motor.

Regards

Noel.

(I'm fortunate to have a Beogram 2402 to use while I sort out the motor issue for the Beogram 3400.)
