Good evening.
I have a beosystem 6500 and a BV11 set up in front of me and they both use the same Beolab 9 speakers. Can I set the options via Beo 4 so that the TV command for the BV11 doesn't turn on the Aux connection on the Beomaster 6500? I cant find the answer easily at the present time. I'm not using the Beo4 to control the Beosystem as I have a Beolink 1000,MCP6500 and Beolink 7000 to do that,...overkill I know! Thank you for any help that anyone can offer...the TV is in V-Opt 2 but not sure what the Beosystem is in at present.
Assuming you are using a BL converter 1611 and a BL ML/NL converter between BV11 and BS6500 and your BL9s are connected to BV11, set BS6500 to A.OPT 0 and BV11 (ML/NL converter) to videomaster V.OPT 2.
Stefan
Hi Stefan,
Thank you for your reply. Im not using any Beolinks between the Beomaster and the BV11. I have the speakers connected by power link from the Beomaster to one of the two power link inputs on BL 9 and then the BV11 to the other powerlink input on the speaker. The problem is the pressing of TV controls on Beo 4 is picked up by the Beomaster as AUX.

ad 2) & 3)and hopefully the BL9's will have a long live
I you don't want to use a converter such as that mentioned by stefan, then in order to 'share' your speakers between the TV and Beosystem, use a powerlink switch such as this: https://shop.oneremote.dk/shop/69067-powerlink-switch/4162-powerlink-speaker-switch/
And then set your BV11 to V.OPT 1 and your BS6500 to A.OPT 1.

But thinking about it: what is the difficulty with the A.AUX command to a BV11 at all? If it is just the BV11 and nothing else, the BV11 shouldn't start.

Get the oneremote powerlink switch - they are great - I have two of them in linkrooms to integrate local audiosystems with the main system.
And please, disconnect your powerlink solution - if both systems, BS6500 and BV11 are activated it may (will) result in hum and maybe damage.
@Stefan, Carolpa, Guy.....
I can’t test it - but doesn’t the BM6500 have an option 4?
This indicates that it has:
https://www.vintageshifi.com/repertoire-pdf/pdf/telecharge.php?pdf=Bang-Olufsen-Beomaster_6500-Service-Manual.pdf
In that case the BM6500 could be set to option 4 - which then means, that altist has to use the Link command before any command for the Beosystem 6500 (and that the BV would not react).
P.S. The right way to go IMO, would be to use the NL/ML Converter....makes everything much easier, once set up/configured.
MM
There is a tv - and there is a BV

Hi,
There is a simpler option - connect the speakers to the TV and link the Beomaster to the 9 pin AV input of the TV with this cable to share the speakers:-

No need for any kind of switch or converter.
Kind regards, Steve.

Sure, Steve - however that does not solve the issue that altist has.
This is :’the problem is the pressing of TV controls on Beo 4 is picked up by the Beomaster as AUX.’.

But according to that linked document it should have.
Would be nice if someone could try that out.
The Beo4 Navi has a 'zones' setting that may be causing the discrepancy. From the user guide:
Beo4 zones (ZONE?)
ALL Used if you have one Beo4 in each room for all your products (default
setting).
VIDEO Used if you have more than one Beo4 in a room and you want to use
it to activate both video and audio sources via your video product.
AUDIO Used if you have more than one Beo4 in a room and you want to use
it to activate both audio and video sources via your audio product.
LINK Used if you have, for example, more than one television in the same
room (Option 4). Refer to the Guide enclosed with your product.
I think it may be in 'Audio'. Maybe try resetting to default?
Great news - thanks for letting us know, and I am glad that it is all working as you wish
