Hi,

I've bought a pair of  BeoPlay E8 3rd Gen. They are in chinese or an other asian language and I can't change it because i can not connect them to beoPlay app.

I've bought them on the french Fnac.fr webspace.

Do you have any help for me?

Hi Gerard,

I have a pair of E8 1st gen, but I don’t know what you mean by “change the language”. Please elaborate.

In any case, check that you are using the Bang & Olufsen app with the B&O logo in just black and white, and not the BeoPlay app which seems to have a dark maroon border.

My E8 3. gen. has voice announcments, I think some thing like «  connected » but the spoken language is chinese, which I do not understand.

I’m using the Bang&Olufsen App with white background and black logo

and the answer after searching is:

BEOPLAY E8 Family could not be found,

The E8s are connected to my iPhone, I get the sound from my radio app on both L and R. but the app can not find them.

Have you considered that they might be fake? If you can post macro photos of them, we might be able to identify.

I have a pair of e8 gen3s, and had a pair of e8 gen2s, and they do not talk to me (in any language)...  unless I'm using Siri or Google Voice Assistant, but then it's really the phone speaking through the e8s, not really the e8s doing the talking.

Sorry, Gerard, I suspect that Svenni is on the right track. Did you buy them from a reputable source?

Yeah, all the B&O Bluetooth speakers and headphones I've used have the same ON/OFF/PAIR sounds. I'm always surprised when I hear the terrible voice synth on Bose speakers.

I bought them on fnac.fr a french online and physical store, but unfortunately it was a marketplace seller, not the original fnac.

Meanwhile, I bought an original pair of E8 3rd gen. at the original fnac.fr

I’ve contacted the french b&o support to identify them as a fake, but this does not seem to be as easy.

Here are also some pictures of the original and fake. The fake is a real good copy apart from the b&o logo on the left earphone .

The badest copy is the rear picture of the box.

The serial number is a real b&o serial number registrated in China.

in the pictures, the original box has still its transparent film.

the silver border is different, R=fake, it’s not as smooth as the L=b&o one

B&O box (L) it’s possible to see the leather texture , on the (R) only brown color.

B&O logo on the upper box (b&o) is nicer then on lower one (fake)

You have to have both side by side to see the differences. Really hard to find them.
