I have 4 low cost LCD TVs 32" and 40" plus a 105" LCD front projector TV in my house all fully calibrated by me. Only one panel, in my daughter's room, is using the built in speakers - although soon she may get my BS2500 tied to it.

The problem is my beovirus is compelling me to introduce B&O video into my life - somehow. I am willing to comply, but I'm cheap, so it has to be used. We can be lazy too, so plasma screen burn-in is a real possibility.

I will want to calibrate the video, use a high def input, use LCD technology, continue to use my projector, experience the electronic screen, and reuse all my passive speakers.

Hopeless cause, or is there a cure? Any suggestions appreciated.

I'm doing some research on the archive and found really good info on the different mark versions of the BV7-32. I need to find out more about the HD ready and HD notations. I've also seen some complaints about the mk I and mk II models that I wonder about.

I'm first looking for a TV for my bedroom, so it's not for critical viewing, just mostly watching TV from my FiOS stb. So a 720p DVI input is all I need since I have an Onkyo receiver and a set of CX100/50 speakers for surround duties. Any input appreciated.

Yes, Ralf, that was a helpful link. Thanks. So now I understand what they mean by HD ready, so that should suit my needs.

 Dmacri,

I have also the beovirus and I entered into the b&o video world recently.

I own a beovision 5 plasma (non hd) and a beovision 7.40 hd ready.

For daily use, I do prefer my BV 5 (non hd content).

The problem with LCD HD ready or full HD is that they absolutely need HD content in order to display a very good picture.

I have a big collection of dvd and tv programs in my area are still in SD definition (only some program in HD).

The plasma is smoother than a LCD.

The sound on the BV5 is really good.

Unfortunately, the BV5 is heavy and hard to find, because nobody wants to send it.

When you add tv set to your beolink system, you are then able to use new function like sending the sound from a beosound to a beovision or control your beosound from your tv set in another room.

Even if the beolink system is now old, it is a usefull part of the B&O  world.

Olvisab - thanks, but I do have a lot of HD content for my FiOS stb and my blu-ray player. I'm such a pain because I will only watch HD nowadays. If I could link the BV7-32 to my BS5000, that would be a bonus, but I didn't think they were compatible.

So, a bv 7 should be fine.

If it is possible try it with your own blu ray because some bv 7 are suffering of dark image.

For example, mine (a bv7.40 mk2) has this little issue.I have to pay for a software update (8.14) in order to solve this problem.

It seems that the image is too dark when using blu ray games on a ps3.

If you have the chance to buy a beolab 7.1 or 7.2 with it for a reasonable price, take it. its sound is amazing.

I use a beolab 7.2 as front speaker/center speaker with my yamaha receiver.

I put the beolab 7.2 on the ground.

The bass are really powerfull.

i tried with beolab 3 / beolab 6000 and I do prefer the beolab 7.2 alone.

I use the yamaha dial lift function in order to lift the sound up to the screen.Very efficient.

Good luck for your search.

Unfortunately a beomaster 5000 doesn't have powerlink built in.

So, I think it will be impossible.

Ok, how do you like my choice? I'm planning on picking up a free, fully functional Avant USA with Beo 4 remote tomorrow. Only a 4 hour round trip. I know, it's old, tube, obsolete, but it's free and may integrate very nicely with my BeoSound 4000. If I can get it all to work with my FiOS STB, and my spare BL2500 speakers, I will be thrilled.

Yeah, it was heavy, but a very nice picture. Only a few problems to sort out - only a couple of lines on the Beo 4 LCD display, trying to figure out how the stand base plate gets attached, and how to get my sources integrated. My youngest wants it for his bedroom. We

will see if he can convince me to turn it over to him.

Congratulations!

Your Beo4 most likely needs a new display. Do NOT pay the extortionist prices they sometime go for on fleaBay, ask your dealer first. It's an easy job for a handy person, and some dealers might even replace it while you wait if they don't have anything better to do.

I already ordered one for $35.00. I'm glad that's an easy fix.

Now, can anyone tell me how to mount the bottom plate of the base so the tv can turn? The motor runs, but I just placed the tv on top of the bottom plate. It must be more involved than that.
