Hi,
I've been having an issue with the new Harmony where it is losing the connection between the screen and the sound centre. It's now happened about 6 times and I've been waiting incase it was something that would work itself out.
It is an intermittent problem. And not sure if it was a result of a software update.
Essentially they are not talking to each other and I've come to the conclusion that it really is operating like a TV with a Stage.
How i know its going to not work is when:
- I click the TV button on the remote which is set to start Foxtel (an external cable TV box) and the screen shows HDMI2 on the side instead of HDMI2 Foxtel as it normally would (the label)
- The BR1 will not have any list functions at all
- The volume up and down will not work
- The B&O remote app on the TV is inoperable and you get the message "unable to connect to your Bang & Olufsen product. Please check that your LAN cable is connected to the TV and try again". You have the option to try again or Disable the B&O app.
- It is connected via LAN and everything is connected by CAT cable.
So i have to when the TV is on:
- Get the LG remote and manually turn off the TV and then back on again
- Note: sometimes that works and today it didn't. I've also done a reset of my network modem / router etc.
I will contact the dealer and they are responsive and great, but I thought if there was a setting that perhaps someone knows if they have experienced the same would save going down an extraneous path.
Thanks
Aussie Michael:- It is connected via LAN and everything is connected by CAT cable.
Aussie Michael:Yes it’s all set correctly It does work but when it’s off for a while and then when you turn it on it’s like they don’t want to talk to each other

Aussie Michael:Thanks Vince I think that perhaps maybe it has a CEC setting that’s somehow affecting it. It’s definitely not the luxury experience I was expecting. I’m testing a number of scenarios.

I know…B&O virus has grown on me !
Yes I use the PUC connection.
Yesterday I went in to the B&O app and under HDMI A and changed HDMI Control to off. I turned off the Harmony and then wait for the morning.
The same situation happened this morning and no sound and no list functions on BR1 (therefore not connected to the B&O app).
So with the Harmony on (TV on and the SC in the open position) i grabbed the LG remote and pressed the power button to turn it off and on, but i only had to press the button once and it sort of reset itself again and then it said "network connected" and then it worked fine.
I also turned off the HDMI CEC (LG Simplink) too.
I will report this now as a bug with the store for them to raise with B&O for resolution.

But did you investigate your Sky box out settings also?

Ok, coming back to my own post, and for those that might not see my comments in the other thread and also a reference to myself and slightly modified
Issue:
The work around was for me (just power cycling the LG screen would cause them to be connected again after start) :
I would complete the work around and it might be OK say if i turn off for an hour and then back on (but not always the case eg happening each time i turn it off and on), however, over night it's like everything goes in to a deep sleep, i would have to repeat it on the first start up of the day (or as needed).
B&O service came out and did a software update but that didn’t do anything when the TV was turned on the following day.
After a week or so, then B&O service said they would like to come and replace the main board, which I’m hesitant to do at this stage. It's brand new basically! But if it plays up after my next round of tests then they will have to.
So i started doing a few tests in between this:
After testing these scenarios and then leaving over night and testing, it come to that if you turn off the Quick Start Plus to off on the LG menu in the LG (not the B&O app nor the Harmony Sound Centre), I don't seem to have the same issue overnight which is what i did before.
I have an LG G1 so it's under the General > Devices > TV Management
I’m monitoring it and will confirm with the service if it in fact works or it might go suddenly again.
Other scenarios i will test because it wasn't also happening with the Foxtel box is what happens when i test say starting YouTube from Standby.
Cheers,
Michael.
I also have this exact same problem which i have raised in another thread. For a bit of background TV was great from install in September through to December when it started happening.
I have unchecked the quick start plus and see if it makes a difference tonight.

If I understood correctly, there is a workaround to swap the cat cable for another, better version. Your dealer should know this.

Interesting - the Harmony sound stage has a fixed Ethernet cable out of it (no idea what CAT it is?) this then connects to a small RJ45 to RJ45 coupler which is not marked with respect to any CAT rating (it is steel and appears shielded), there is then a short patch cable to the LG (Cat 6). I'd be surprised if this patch cable makes much of a difference as it is only 30cm long or so?
Anyway just ordered a Cat8 patch cable.... can't harm!
I have this same frustrating issue with my Harmony 88. Please let us know how you guys went ?
thanks
Ash
I’ve been given a high quality S/FTP patch cord Cat 6A as replacement.
Well I am still in the same state of not working!
Tried the QS+ set to off - turn TV on using BR and opens, no sound out of the speakers. Tried the AV reset next, still no effect TV turns on and no sound out of the speakers. Tried the CEC next still no sound. Only way to resolve it was to turn it off, wait for a few minutes and turn it back on, sound restored! Takes about 30 - 40 minutes of messing about each evening just to turn a TV on!
There is really something not right - now i am not so sure it is software, wondering if B&O changed a board design due to component shortage and there is an embedded issue.
Not really a very good experience - Thanks B&O!
Aussie Michael:Oh I feel disappointed it didn’t work for you. I’ll check some other settings and post them. Clearly it’s a bigger issue and now it’s affected several others.
Ok so had a B&O visit, changed some of the DNS settings of the LG screen, installed a PUC lead into the Sky box. So far TV is good - still get the BL28'2 dropping the connection between the TV even thought they are on the network and play fine....
Progress but not quite there!

No delay when they are working, the BL28s do not drop in operation. The connection to the BL28's is lost to the TV when it is all in standby overnight.
vlohjr1:I have turned off as suggested by you Michael over the weekend and so far no issues so thanks for this Furthermore by switching Quick+ off I noticed sound and picture come on with better sync than previously will keep posted
Quick update - had a second B&O technical guy out, changed the DNS settings on the panel and so far so good the Harmony itself is working. The only minor issue i have still is that 30% of the time the WiSA connection to the BL28 speakers is lost and they need rebooting and reading back to the Harmony settings.
Suggestion from B&O is that it is likely a channel congestion on the Wifi network in the house but this is relatively easy to fix.... progress :)
