I have a BM2200 which works really well and sounds very good indeed. The only problem with it is that when i press Tape i get a crackle sometimes and sound doesn't come through the left speaker, if i then press the button in and out a couple of times it is fine. This doesn't happen on any of the other sources so I suspect it is dust in the switch.

Is there a way of cleaning the switch with deoxit without taking the machine apart? by that I mean can i remove the top of the switch and spray a small amount of deoxit in or will that just mess everything up?

Any help much appreciated as taking it apart looks like a bit of a nightmare and it's working find apart from teh Tape input.

The pushbutton tops are glued to the switch stems underneath.
You could be lucky and get it off in one piece - but I will not be the one encouraging you to try.
Much safer to losen and tilt the front panel.
