At one B&O sale-shop in sweden it says that the Beosound Core is discontinued. Is this right?
Have someone heard anything about this?

I haven’t heard anything about this.
However, that would mean that there must be something else to replace it - it is needed for the BS Shape!

Wasn’t the Core updated at some point and subsequently given a new Part Number? I seem to remember reading that the Core underwent some minor hardware changes which warranted a new P/N. Could just be the old P/N having been declared as “Discontinued?”
B&O did an price increase on the Core, from 800 to 900€. I think they don’t do that on an discontinued product.
Core was updated at some point with a different part number to include the ability to use an IR eye. That's it. Otherwise, unchanged throughout its life, as far as I understand.

Maybe Mozart compatible? But now that Multiroom and Mozart can play nicely, I'm not sure why a big change would be required.
