Hi Beoworlders,
I'm trying to connect a BC2 to a Samsung TV that doesn't have a scart input. I used a Scart -> 3RCA (red, white, yellow) and there is nothing...
Also, which option should I set the BC2 to? Option 6?
I've read the manual and read through the archived forums, but can't get my head around it...
Any help would be greatly appreciated

I don't have a BC2 but have also just had a look at the manual.
The problem could be with your SCART to RCA lead, as the RCAs may well be connected to the 'input' pins of the SCART, rather than the 'output' pins. I have a similar SCART to RCA cable with a switch on the side of the SCART to select whether it is an input or output - you need the latter.
Alternatively, rather than use a SCART to 3RCA lead, have you tried using RCA to RCA, connecting the Red and White 'Line out' , and the Yellow 'video out' connections of the socket unit to the corresponding inputs on the TV?
Thanks Guy, I'll give that a shot later today.
I have 2 scart leads you can have for nothing if you want.
they are scart > component or scart > composite
maybe worth a try and I will never use them - don't have any scart stuff (besides foxtel boxes) but they're all HDMI now
Cheers
Michael.
I had a BC2 to a Samsung tv a while ago, it worked great. Scart to RCA to the tv. Did it all work out for you?
OK, so I tried the suggested solution and got the following results:
So overall, this isn't working. I used a SCART with the INPUT/OUTPUT switch and a red/white/yellow RCA cable from the CART adapter to the TV.
Can anyone suggest how I can resolve this? If I connect the BC2 to a B&O TV it works perfectly. I'm at a total loss as to how to resolve this
Hi Jonathan,
To which v.Opt did you set BC2? In my opinion it should by set to 1 as it has no ML connection.
DVD Options: SCART SENSO OUT: NO, DVD SOUND: SCART, SCART VIDEO OUT: RGB

Hi hfat,
That's exactly how it is set. I tested Option 0 and Option 2 as well just in case...

1983beo:Jonathan If you presss radio of course there Will be no sound at your Samsung tv. There is only sound on the powerlink out for the B&O speakers. If you want sound from the radio use the aux output to the tv. But i can't imagine why you want to listen to radio true your Samsung tv.
This is one point where I'm confused... Why do I get sound from a DVD or a CD but not from the radio????
...but when I connect it to a B&O TV, I get radio sound through Scart.....
but given that when Jonathan connects it to a Beovision he only uses SCART, then the RADIO sound must be travelling down the SCART lead ...
Thanks 1983beo, I guess that makes sense. But that still doesn't explain the other issues I have when it's connected to the Samsung that I don't have when it's connected to a Beovision.....
Just borrowing an existing thread since the question is rather similar. Has anyone tried to connect the BC2 to a BeoPlay V1, which doesn't have Masterlink? Is it likely to be a hassle as well or is there a workaround provided by B&O?
ok, so that's that answered... still no one with a solution to the problems?
It just doesn't make sense that the loading mechanism on the BC2 works perfectly when connected to a Beovision, but doesn't work properly when connected to the Samsung!?!
Tried all the options, and did a power reset when all cables connected...
It's very strange :/
Thanks for your help 1983beo, but I think this seems to be a lost cause!
Unless someone else can help.......
jonathan,
about the thing that you have to press load twice. Is this always there or only when connected to the samsung tv. It is possible that the belt isn't good. Then the beocneter 2 cannot detect that the doors are totally open. In that case you have to replace he belt.
if the problem is only present on a samsung tv and not on the b&o then that's of course not the problem.
Is your Samsung ok?
The strange thing is the BC2 works absolutely perfectly when connected to my Beovision 3. Everything works as it should; the doors and DVD loading mechanism, the IR sensor, the radio, the sound, the DVD player.
As soon as it's plugged in to the Samsung the Gremlins come out. The doors play up, the loading mechanism doesn't rise unless you press standby, the radio doesn't work, the BC2 doesn't respond to the remote. The Samsung flat screen works perfectly at all times, regardless of what is connected to it....
I think this is just one of those unsolveable things, as there doesn't seem to be a solution to this :/
What happens if you try to connect with only the RCA (yellow/red/white) to the camera of the BV3?
Is the Samsung a plasma? - could it be a case of 'plasma IR interference'? Google suggests that a number of people have had this problem, especially with Samsung TVs.
Had and have similar effect with our Pioneer Plasma.
When it is on the BEO 4 remote does not work anymore...

Could this be the case even if it is over 5 metres away?
The Plasma is wall mounted, and the BC2 is way accross the other side of a large living room.
although it still doesn't explain the doors and loading mechanism acting strangely....
but doesn't the BC2 have additional IR sensors that detect your hands approaching and control the doors? These 'proximity sensors' would equally be confused by stray plasma interference.
Have you tried physically shielding the TV (but be careful not to overheat it if you cover the screen!)
EDIT: Just looked at the manual - perhaps it doesn't have such sensors?
no, it has a 'LOAD' button on the facia
Just realised that and edited!
What about physically shielding? Cardboard over the TV screen for a quick test?
