Dear members,
I'm sorry for asking another question. I've just tried to link my Beosystem 7000 to my Avant 32 RF. I've used a 1610 converter (Audiokit AV 9000) but the connection doesn't seem to work. Do I need another converter? What can be wrong?
Thanks very much.
Rgds,
Kai
You need the 1611. Works fine - I had this set up for many years. They are about to stop production of the 1611/1610 so if you want a new one, now is your last chance!

Thanks Peter. New one is too expensive. Bang und Olufsen wanted 80 Euro for a used one. Is that reasonable?
Anything with two digits from B&O is a bargain
It's not going to wear in use, so if you feel the solution is worth that to you, it's a decent price for having one without a need to hunt around. They aren't exactly given away in online auctions either, unless it happens to be included in a bigger lot.

Ok. I'll try grabbing it. By the way: without having had a listen yet, most functions of the Beosystem 7000 seem to be working. However, it does seem to me that the Beogram 7000 CD opens on its own from time to time. Is that a common issue? What may be the cause? Does anybody still have the brush to clean the needle of the Beogram record player?

There's a microswitch in the tray mechanism that senses the end of travel. I guess this could be caused by it being dirty.
Sounds like an easy fix but if you have to open the Beogram CD for cleaning purposes than it's probably not... ?
Actually it is quite easy - even a complete ham fisted idiot like me can do this - and have done so! The top comes off very easily and the switch is obvious.
