A interesting article, which ironically makes me a little more content with my imminent 11 arrival
The future sure is interesting and as i'm about to shell out yet more cash, not quite mainstream.

Hi Beofans!
I am new here and wanted to get your opinion as I plan to buy a Beovision 11-46 in the next couple of weeks... its price went down in France and it will also soon be delivered with the Beo Remote One which makes the deal even better!
I was looking for the best compromise between picture quality and great sound as I want to have a simple setup to watch TV/movies but also listen to my music (stored on a Mac)
Do you think the Beovision 11 would be enough to answer this need and provide a crisp and deep music experience? For those who connected a Sub to the TV, is it improving a lot the sound picture? Is there any noticable defaults on this screen before I sign? ;)
Thanks a lot for all your feedbacks and wish I become a B&O user soon.

Hi Hiort,
Thanks for your reply.
I tryed but couldn't find any reviews on BV 11, can you eventually copy and paste the path to get there?
I was thinking about adding a BL11 or BL19. Is this extra depth noticable also when you listen to music?
Regarding the Playmaker, I guess it would work the same if I use an Apple TV, isn't it?
I am just not sure about the finishings. I quite like the Silver frame with the white fret but heard the fret is fragile and after a while, especially on the white, you see the speakers through the fret. What about the black color then, does it solve the problem? What is your color combination?

Try this thread.
Maybe you can get some information and inspiration there - especially from the posts that KMA made.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Thanks Beogreg,
I would love to get extra BL18 but I can't afford it if I buy the BV11... The good thing with this TV is that you can expand the system later anyway
Thank you for the link Millemissen.
Very good review from KMA indeed!
However I see that the panel on more recent models suffers from backlight troubles... Do you have any infos concerning this issue?
I now have had my BV 11-55 for almost 2 years. It is a great TV and the sound is very impressive. There is a backlit problem (with my TV at least), in that light images against black will show some ghosting, as well as some minor LED bleeding. So it is great, but not a perfect TV. At first it bothered but over time you get use to it and it does not bother you as much. BR videos look absolutely fantastic.
On the sound front there is a significant difference in the sound between the BV11-46 and 11-55. The 11-55 can standalone without additional speakers for music and movies. However the sound does improve with additional speakers. I have BL-1s, and looking at acquiring a BL-19 for that extra power at the low end, frankly mostly for music rather than film.
Aesthetically i prefer the BV11 over the Avant. But if the Avant eliminated the backlighting light issue of the BV11, I would probably go for it.
Hope this helps

Could see that someone linked to the post I was thinking of. You can also read on this page. Its a review at FlatpanelsHD.

Seldom play music through the BV11, but when I do the BL11 certainly add extra depth.
fredpert: Regarding the Playmaker, I guess it would work the same if I use an Apple TV, isn't it?
Correct. The DAC in Playmaker is however considered much better.

The white may collect dust as you mention. My dealer says B&O will replace the fret if that would happen. I have the black fret with the black frame. Look stylish in my mind. I bought it used form my dealer, so I had no choice regarding the frame, but I'm happy with the looks.
The DAC in the playmaker might be better than the DAC in the Airport Express, but that's not the same as in the AppleTV. AppleTV is connected via HDMI and cooperates perfectly with the BV11 (PUC). It also fits completely within the housing. Much better airplay without any dropouts. I see no reason to prefer a playmaker above the AppleTV, especially when connected to a BeoVision. The AppleTV is a much better choice here.

In terms of finish i chose he black frame. I think the silver looks more interesting if you have accompanying silver speakers. However the benefit of the black finish is that the frame seems to disappear when the TV is on, and it looks like one piece of borderless glass or image.
