Hello guys,

Would it be possible to connect a beocenter 7000 on my beomaster 7000 and use it as a record player only ?

In other words, is it possible to make the record player play through my beolabs 3 connected to my BV 7-40, connected to the beomaster 7000 via tape 1?

Thanks for your technical knowledge on this

Yes, you can take out the record signals from the TAPE socket at the rear of the Beocenter 7000
and feed it to any line level input of any amplifier.

Thanks Martin.

What type of cable do I need, normal powerlink ?

How can I select the line entry of the BM 7000 via the beo4 ? I suppose it is the "unused" socket blocked with a plastic cork. (Sorry for such newbie vocabulary !!!, but I don't find other terms to explain)

You need a 5 pin DIN (Audio Aux) lead, which should be plugged in to either TV/AUX, CD, TAPE1 or TAPE2 of the BM7000.

Selection using the Beo4 depends upon what input you chose, but I suggest that you go for the TV/AUX input and add 'A.AUX' as a virtual button to the LIST function of the remote.  Alternatively, use TAPE2 and add TAPE2 to the Beo4 LIST.

EDIT: You probably already have your TV attached to the TV/AUX, hence use the TAPE2 input.  If your Beo4 is quite new, you may have to add N.RADIO rather than TAPE2 in order to select this input - the IR code is the same.

EDIT2:  The 'plastic cork' is probably the LINE IN/OUT  'jumper' (left hand socket as you view from the rear) and should not be removed - otherwise all sound output will cease!

Will this work with a beocenter 7000 ? Since it is also a beomaster and not just a record deck, i tought it would be more complex to connect a beoamster to another beomaster.

It seems strange to connect the tape socket of a beomaster to the tape socket of another one.

Is the line IN Not made for that purpose ?

Thanks

It should work fine because a 5 pin DIN (audio aux) socket/cable provides both an input and output.  This in this example it will be the output from the BC (of whatever is playing at the time - be it radio, tape or phono) and input to the BM7000.

The BM7000 LINE IN/OUT is there for a graphic equalizer - it enables you to connect one in circuit with the built in amplifier.  I doubt that it is used very often!

Thanks for all. I will let you know if all this works if I buy the beocenter 7000.
