Bullshit - all you need for connecting the BL14.1.5 to a non-B&O tv is the Audiolab 8200AP...
...which you don't need with the B&O tv, because it comes with its own built-in preamp/decoder/processor.
Who - on earth - would buy a non-B&O tv and the Audiolab 8200AP instead of buying a genuine Bang & Olufsen tv?
Is this how B&O-dealers are attempting to sell the BL 14.1.5 version of the new LS-set?
Millemissen:Bullshit - all you need for connecting the BL14.1.5 to a non-B&O tv is the Audiolab 8200AP...
MartinW:Will this be a product you will actually be positive about on this forum? Because that really would be a surprise!!
StUrrock:Is it do wrong to try and please your clientele?
absolutely not
it is the best way to do business
StUrrock:Some of the comments I make are feed back from clients and I post here in the attempt that should B&O ever read this forum they may take there feedback on board.
perhaps you should separate the feedback ?
"I think xxx"
"My client told me yyy"
"Most of my clients believe zzz"
StUrrock:I have made several positive comments
It would be nice if some of the client comments were also positive

I am not quite sure what you are up to with your last comment?
What I have written has in some way upset you - why, I do not know?
But if you want to 'use rude words", feel free.
These "rude words" won't explain why somebody with a non-B&O tv should spend 1300£ (1700€) on a AV-processor (that in fact 'only' is an A-processor) and more than 3000€ (I suppose) for a set of powered speakers with the B&O-logo on it.
The BL14-set will be great - no doubt about it (still looking forward to hearing it), and the Audiolab has great values - I know that.
But people going the non-B&O route are buing an A/V-receiver with a set of passive speakers or maybe the Bose Soundbar, a Sonos Soundbar, or....
For quite a long time people have been asking for solutions connecting BeoLabs to a non-B&O tv in the 'HiFi4All/Peter Pan-threads" and have been presented with plenty of advice for doing so. Conecting a new set (the BL14) is really nothing new!
These solution all end up in a lot of cabling, triggering and mostly several remote controls (and some of the users afterwards even return to a pure Bang & Olufsen setup).
If non-B&O tv owners should get genuine help from Bang & Olufsen trying to improve the sound (and their lives) using a non-B&O tv, they need a BL14-set WITH A BUILD-IN AUDIOPROCESSOR - connected with one cable to their non-B&O tv.
Should be easy to make for the guys in Struer, but that would probably be the end of the Bang & Olufsen tv's - only a few enthusiasts would buy a BV then!
------
If you still want to (without using "rude words", please) convince me that a BL14.1.5 set and the Audiolab will be a good combination for non-B&O owners, you must explain a least how these things are connected to another. Otherweise I am not able to judge if that solution might "improve the life" of a non-B&O tv-owner.
Have a good day
Millemissen
@ Millemissen, Sorry I may have misunderstood, was B*llsh*t directed at me or B&O?
You are right for non B&O TV owners the audio processor should have been incorporated into the BeoLab 14, having the extra audio processor is an not elegant solution. Which will limit the appeal of theese great sounding little beauties.
Yet again it is down to the dealers to find a work around for a product that has great potential, but its implimentation has not been 100% thought through.
The separate processor is not ideal you are right. However, without it B&O will sell none of the BeoLab 14.1.5 set ups which as we all know as a concept are nothing new, but have a much more achievable price point for a B&O surround solution with non B&O TVs.
No hard feelings maybe one day if you are in the UK, we could compare notes :)
@StUrrock:
"@ Millemissen, Sorry I may have misunderstood, was B*llsh*t directed at me or B&O?"
That depends on whether the quotation is from you or from Bang & Olufsen (or both).
Thinking that a solution with the Audiolab and the BL 14.15 will apeal to costumers with a non.....tv is IMO not knowing the market!
And calling it a solution that could "improve the life" is just a marketing-thing.
That is why I wrote 'bullsxxt" 💩 - sorry if my choice of words upset you 😳
"No hard feelings maybe one day if you are in the UK, we could compare notes :)"
Same for you, if you one day are in Denmark - the country of Bang & Olufsen ;)

I am still eager to learn how the Audiolab should be connected to the non...tv and the BL14,
If noone will tell, I guess I'll gave to wait 'till wednesday.
Thanks Martin for your explanation
OK - one should never say no, but I am still not sure of the success.
If I am wrong, I'll be the first to point my finger at....me!
I have written it a couple of times allready - I am really looking forward to hearing AND seeing the set on wednesday.
We need some fresh air in the B&O BL-range!
"(Its not spherical!)"
Maybe they look more like the speakers of the BeoSound 8/B&O Play A8 - more 'Dolly Partical' 👯
MartinW:And it really really really does look great in the flesh! I haven't seen anything out there that looks anywhere near as desirable if you want lots of power and great sound from a small footprint 😊 (Its not spherical!)
(Its not spherical!)
Very true ..
@ Millemissen ... not the shape of a "single" Play A8 ...
I have a Yamaha RX-V3800 receiver for my living room TV and to that I have Beolabs connected. Works very well and it also has trigger outputs. It handles all my HDMI and external sources, just lika a BS3 would. So I also dont see the reason for the audiolab-unit really. However, lets just wait and see what is revealed. I understand that people that works with B&O installations have already seen the units. If you want to post something interesting - then post the pictures of them. I mean, if leaking something you can just as well leak everything :).
Vienna: (Its not spherical!) Very true .. @ Millemissen ... not the shape of a "single" Play A8 ...
"not a "single" Play A8..."
Could it be "two" A8's then?
It is getting more and more mysterious 👽
Millemissen: It is getting more and more mysterious 👽
@Vienna:
Yes, I know that there are 4 or 5 depending on...
But the "two" could be a smaller and a bigger "A8"-shaped speaker in one???
How dare you tease us, you...

If that product scenario is the case, forcing the choice of receiver or pre-amp would raise the ire of the same type folks who complain about B&O TVs. Sometimes you have to decide that trying to please everyone will result in pleasing no one.
Because it has analog 5.1 outputs for SACD etc, maybe one could use an Oppo bluray as the preamp/processor and bridge HDMI for Cable TV via the HDMI input and the second HDMI output? Might work.
I really hope they aren't going to try and dictate which processor people use? Surely that would be incredibly stupid, and annoy potential clients no end.
I am looking forward to this launch and more details. How will these compare to something like http://www.kef.com/html/gb/showroom/home_theatre_speakers/KHT3000SE/fact_sheets/systems/kht3005se/index.html. Which (as I am sure the bl14 must?) just plugs into any amp/receiver
I am sure that 'they' aren't going to dictate anything - but the Audiolab would do a very good job in this combination.
The KEF's really are competitors, but it is a passive set (except for the sub). The BL14-set is an actice system (means each satelte has its dedicated amp in the sub-unit - which by the way is a good solution).
But that really is the difficult point. With the KEF (and others) you have a broad range of receivers to choose from. With the BL14.1,5 you have few choices - audio-processors/surround preamps are rare!
That is why B&O suggests that you use the Audiolab - it would do the job well, I am sure.
On the other hand: most people with non-B&O tv's would think just like you - and would prefer to have a broader range to choose from, or maybe even already have a receiver at home.
But B&O making a passive 5.1-set would be absurd and very non-B&O'ish.
That is why I wrote:

Thanks for the explanation. So these won't work for all the people who have homes pre wired with normal speaker cable either? I assume that being active they need some different sort of cable?
i understand that they like passive speakers, but they seem to be ruling out a lot of the potential market.

LOL
At the risk of more GRRRRs from our BeoTabby I say keep teasing !!
I have finally received an Australian invitation (how come B&O Newcastle-on-Tyne gives me better service/attention !) and so we are planning to be there !
Any other Melbournians going ?
Some tv's out there need more time to process video-signals, so bear in mind that if you're using different brands to process audio and video, lip-sync issues can occur.
The Audiolab offers no 'auto lip sync function' - must be done manual...what a pity!
