In addition to my  existing Beosound Ouverture I got a Beosound 5 which I want to integrate in my coniguration: BV 7-40 MKV, BL8000, BL11, BL6000 attached to powerlink of  the BV7. I have set the BV7 to Option 2, the Ouverture to Option 0. The Besound 5 is set as Audio Master (AM) and also Option 0. That leads to the effect, that pressing "Radio" on the BEO4, both the Ouverture and the Beosound 5 start playing radio. I tried more options like Ouverture on option 6, but there is no sound.

Is this a basic problem i.e. 2 Beosounds cannot work in the same configuration or is there a fix or workaround to the problem? Please help, as I have no more ideas of how to configure this.

Regards, rpaul

Hello, I have the same problem. BV7, BS9000 (audiomaster) BS5 (Slave). One can have only one Audimaster. I had to take the BS9000 for it, otherwise radio and CD correctly does not work. Moreover, I needed this for the reproduction timer in the BV7. Otherwise the spring is not indicated. Disadvantage with this configuration - Spotify is not available. Have also BV7 on Opt.2, BS9000 on 0 and BS5 Slave

You should set Ouverture to A.Opt 4. When you want to play e.g. radio from Beosound Overture you have to press link radio.

I tried it, but after pressing link/radio nothing happened. The Ouverture does not respond. By just pressing radio, the Beosound 5 repsonds with the selected radio programme and the Ouverture just turns the light on, otherwise keeps silent.

On the BS5 in the Settings menu and down to Roles is N Music & N Radio set to these options.

Under Roles you can set the BS5 to respond to N Music when pressing CD and N Radio when pressing radio.

Just a thought.

Sorry, I just checked. The Ouverture only support a.opt 0,1,2 and 6.

As far as I remember older Ouvertures just offered "A.OPT 0 / 1 / 2"  and newer ones (SW2.1) can be set to "A.OPT 5 / 6" too.

Maybe I'm wrong, I've used "L.OPT 4" on BLB 3500s and "V.OPT 4" on serveral TVs, but I can't remember ever having seen
"A.OPT 4" being accepted by any audio product.

Part of the problem might be the old SW level in my ouverture. Nevertheless there should be a workaround to the problem. I`ll try to play around with different roles options in the Beosound 5. One solution - however very crude - solution is to switch off the one Beosound not in use- But that is not very B&O like! There should be a smoother option.

No -  the BeoSond Overture simply has never been updated to be "Netmusic / Netradio" compliant.

BTW, SW 2.1. update kit for Ouverture - which won't solve your specific issue (i'ts offering link-room
use of an Ouverture as a secondary local system in A.OPT 5 + 6) is not any longer available.

If you don't use cassettes - replace your Ouverture e.g. by a second hand Beosound 3000 ...

I tried to changes roles in the BS5 and it worked, not perfect though because I have to press Radio twice on the Beo4 to get the Ouverture playing radio and I have to switch the Ouverture to standby before going back to TV.

Thanks for the hint Peter, the simple things are sometimes really the best!
