1) I buy based on need. Speakers last 10 years or more. My BV8 is is a 5 years old as well. I don't need anything right now. They would need to get me back into buying based on "want" for which Audio and Video is too complex of an area.
I think their problem is getting new customers, they can only get so much out of the existing customer base.

Some truth there. The BS9000/BL8000 setup I bought is just too good and satisfying. I tended to churn equipment before I got my B&O, never completely satisfied. After the B&O, I have been so satisfied with the whole experience, sound, ease of use, aesthetics, that I've not felt the need to change, and that's been for 16 years. The stuff is too good I guess. I do feel the need now and then for a sub, so they will probably get money out of me there, but then again I might well go used for that. I do want a Playmaker though.

Graham, just to update you, the Sony Centre in Liverpool One closed down a while ago. Perhaps TOO close to John Lewis.
