Settings......Maintenance......Latest Release Information is where I see the bookmarking language. It goes on to say to contact dealer for further information.

Thanks - I got it. Sounds a bit different on my BS5 screen ...(set to danish language :))
But I don`t think there actually is a "star bookmarking feature". Nowhere mentioned in the Spotify guide.
There is one action mentioned, if you press GO (select) long:
"Play and pause playback. Long press during playback will plant a ’seed’ just like the MOTS function of N.Music"
I`m using Spotify search with my ipad:
- Create playlists named GREEN - YELLOW - RED - BLUE (starred?) and you can also create playlists numbered from 1 - 99.
- Assign these Spotify lists to BS5 favourites with the same title.
- Search for new tracks/albums in Spotify and save it to i.e. playlist "1" using the "+" button. No need to be in the same room as BS5...
- Select your BS5 list by pressing A.MEM - 1.
- Very simple. Works with all Beo remotes Beo4/5/6, BL1000,5000 and from all linkrooms.
- Just an idea - while waiting for two way communication with Beo6 and Beolink app...

reading your post, I thought: WOW that is complicated - and you say that it is simple.
I use the Spotify app on my iPad, choose whatever I like and send it to my PM (via AirPlay) connected to ML to hear it in any linkroom....
...that is simple.
If - I say if - the BS/BM5 would be integrated into NL and you could use the BeoRemote for Spotify to BS5, I would concider buying a BS/BM5.

I agree with you. Very simple. And very effective. I have been building play lists exactly as you describe. Wonderful update and added functionality.
I spoke with my dealer yesterday about ordering a floor stand for my Beosound 5 as I am thinking of relocating it. I asked about the star bookmarking feature. Dealer's understanding is that the feature is said to be present but they have not been told how to do it.
I spent some time yesterday trying different button combinations, and could not get anything to work for star bookmarking. I am wondering if it is feature that was planned but then left out of the update.

I have also renamed Green Yellow Red Blue so that on the Beosound 5 instead of seeing the colors in the list of favorites, it displays the name I have given to each of the four playlists.
When a playlist is playing, once the Beosound 5 defaults to the large cover art display, the title of the playlist is displayed at the bottom of the screen, in the color that title is assigned to.
Similarly the numbered favorites can also display a name. For instance I have put the 9 Beethoven symphonies in number 9 which now displays as "9 Beethoven Symphonies" on the Beosound 5.
To improve the search function, the beo6 would be a great add-on value if the volume wheel and GO button could be used to browse through the alphabet.

Sorry, but your post was about 'Spotify being simple on the BS5' - I just wanted to tell you what I think is 'simple', and that I hope for a much 'simpler' way to use Spotify for the BS5 coming as soon as possible.
Since you mentioned that you use the iPad to make your playlists and more, I was tempted to mention my way of using the iPad and the PM.
