Right now...Pink Floyd's new album, The Endless River. Long, 4 "sides" are listed, all instrumental except for the last song. Really enjoying it, it reminds me of some of their early instrumental work, very thematic and flowing, easy to get lost in. Quite enjoyable. Well worth a listen. I got it via iTunes, what can I say, I like instant gratification, time between when I read the interview with Rick Mason about it and when I had it on my PC was about 2 minutes.
ETA: It's not that long, some of the songs on the "sides" are quite short, it's about a regular album length. I bought the enhanced version, which includes several videos and a PDF of the liner note booklet. Compared to the size of a CD sized booklet, it's a lot nicer and easier to see full screen on a PC or tablet.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.

Bette Midler oldies but goldies in a new frock, if you are into oldies and Bette, a must have. A nearly 69 year old lady at her best, wonder if she is grumpy, like some of us
Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.
Hey Søren,
I love Bette Midler, she does a fantastic forties/fifties lounge act!

This is a new CD, just launched, I wanted the vinyl, but 50 USD kept me away, so its the CD and 11 USD. Bought on Amazon and comes with the Prime download, I am listening to the download, will pick up the CD in McAllen later this month. and yes Bette is a top artist.
Hi Søren,
Bette Midler’s “No Frills” and her 1973 white cover titled simply “Bette Midler” are wonderful, but the killer album is “Live at Last.” OMG is it ever GREAT!
The “Round the World with Vicki Eydie” is brilliant!
In a Rolling Stones concert somewhere in the US, Bette Midler came on, and made a duet with Mick Jagger, Beast of Burden, best Beast of Burden I ever heard. I have the concert on DVD somewhere, have to go look for it.
This one?

Yep, that's the one.... either one, but the second is more typical of the Devine Ms. M.

I have that one on CD, why did I give my BG 1000 to my son, I have to go looking for another, and the black edition no less.

Later in the day, on random playing, I got a 1950s rock and roll ... and almost stumbled in the street when I though I heard a certain word in the middle of the song ... I then realised the singer said "mashed potato" ... and realised that maybe the song was not so innocent after all.
McCarthy was right all along, reds were under the beds, and the youth were being subverted by rock & roll !
And I think I prefer subtle subversion to Australia's latest music export's explicit carrying ons: Iggy Azalea and her body parts.

I have the original on LP.... simply GREAT. You gave your Beomaster 1000 to your son? Oy, you are a loving dad!

Very nice I am sure, but it would give my Beogram 4000 fits!

Don't know about the 4000, but the 4002 can be fooled by just putting your finger in the way of the light.
Did a lot of listening on the 4002 this weekend as we cleaned all the camping gear for winter storage. Let It Bleed, Band on the Run, Stop Making Sense, LZ IV to name a few.

Hi Rich,
I was using “shorthand” vis-à-vis the 4000. A clear record won’t work on any of the tangential turntables, and as you may recall I have a 4000, 4002, 4004, 8000, and 8002.
That said your trick with your finger blocking the sensor will work on any of ‘em. Good one!
Last night it was the Wish You Were Here SACD on the CD X and M70's. Hard not to play that loudly. I wish I had a bigger room to put those M70's in.
Bb F G E for the win!
My wife came back from shopping with this one, she is slowly getting the vinyl virus, cleaned it and plays nearly without tic and tacs

- on ANY of the tangentials..? You mean the older ones, of course. You are aware that the newer ones do not use a light sensor..? " />

Hi Steffen,
I fear you maybe giving me too much credit.
I know sans question that a clear record will not play on a Beogram 4000, 4002, 4004, and 8000.
I am not positive about the 8002, but I suspect it would balk exactly like the previously mentioned Beograms.
I confess I didn’t know the later models worked without a sensor, but to be quite honest, I never considered any of them to due their declining build-quality.
I hope that doesn’t make me a snob but I really do LOVE my “older” Beograms!

OK Søren,
You did it; you got me hooked….. hook, line, and sinker.
I heard some excerpts and they are fantastic! I am currently awaiting Amazon.com to re-stock the Bette Midler’s “It’s the Girls” LP album. They sold-out instantly.
Honestly, I like CD’s and they are easier to care for, but now that we have a choice again, I am going back to LP’s.

I am totally into vinyl, if I find an artist or hear about a new disk from an artist I like, I always check for vinyl first, I do buy a CD if not available on vinyl. I have until now, as you, only heard Bette on digital (Amazon), but next week I will pick up the record and will also pick up this one, good old Rock and Roll, and some more under these Piaf, La Vie En Rose.
We are on the same page exactly…. exactly. Part of me can’t believe that they are doing vinyl again, but as they are, and when available, it is what I am going to spend my hard-earned money on.
Dinner guests arriving in 30 minutes for Thanksgiving (American) and I really need to look after that turkey. If it tastes as good as it smells, we got a winner! The aroma here whiffing up from the second floor is driving me crazy.
Been rocking in the garage with cassettes all morning digging into what Martin would call "the dungeons." BC2400 -> BM2400 -> P45. Last thing I listened to was U2's Joshua Tree.
PS to Soren: found it, I can ship it today or tomorrow!
