Just got Kaija Saariaho and put it in my Bg CD 4k5, and Pelle Miljoona starts to sing Can yuo imagine my suprise? Rock instead of classical! After recovered from suprise, I found out that trere were CD allready in player, I did not see it in the dark room. So, now it is proofed, CD 4k5 can take multiple CD's

As always you bring something I do not know, or havnt heard for a long time, today music I never heard of.
Two of my Grand Nieces, went to the beach at Vejle Bay, DK today, surely hoping for summer in DK, they send me a pic, looked cold there.
But here they are, no girls, but Beach Boys, Endless Summer. 180 grams vinyl remastered
Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.
I was turned on to Stereolab back in the late 90's by a friend of mines Ex gf. At that time they were the alternative to the alternative.. sadly one of the original members Mary Hanson was run over by a lorre in 2001
They were never the same after that. The principal songwriters broke up and the band split in 2008.
But during the 90's they produced an astonishing amount of work - not only as Stereolab - but in affiliation with their label and other bands Nurse with Wound, Mouse on Mars etc...
Funnily enough it was at the end of the bands tenure that a more mainstream popularity was found. They actually sell just about as much music and merchandise now as they did as a recording and touring band.
My favorite release was Dots and Loops followed closely by Cobra and Phases.

Being in British Columbia summer weather and the beach are far off, but it was about 14°C today with sun, something we haven’t seen in two weeks!

Amazing
I went to see the 'Million Dollar Piano'- movie the other night.
Great picture (and BIG), but the sound - oh my, that was not what I had expected.
Typical Cinema/movie sound - dull, with lots of surround, but with the fronts sticking to the screen, a rather canny sound.
In fact - I was quite disappointed - had expected more.
What just went on in my living room, was what I had expected to hear - I can't imagine how that Bluray would sound with 4 BL5's (and a good center) working their mojo
So - if you have a chance to listen to the 'Goodbye Yellow Brick Road' Bluray-Audio in 5.1 sound, just do it (whether you are in for Sir Elton or not).

Erik Satie, Piano Works, Klara Kormendie, 1989, Naxos.
Astonishing that these works were produced 1888-1917 with such a clear modern sound.
The final track 36, "Rag-Time Parade" has overtones of Scott Joplin, and is such a contrast to the familiar Gymnopedies.
A really well produced CD.

FSAE is coming to an end for me soon as all that is left for 2014 is our two competitions. Still seems to be getting a lot of my attention somehow! Graduation is a semester away so I won't be starting another year of that unfortunately.
Another big part of my life now is a new job, too. That does a really good job of keeping me from my B&O hobby.

Working from home today... The home office had a makeover that recently pushed out the 4000 and S45's earlier this year. After extreme dissatisfaction of my harmon/kardon computer speakers I ran upstairs and uncovered my favorite amp of all time - my BeoMaster 1000.
Currently rediscovering my music collection in its entirety.
Wish they had remastered the artwork as well... you get an '80s overdose already before the shrinkwrap is off

Vinyl survives, its black magic .

I hav^nt been to DK for 7 years, I hope to see Martin and a couple of other Beoworlders, I want to see the museum in Struer, 2 full weeks vacation for the first time in many years, Søren Hammer is in Aarhus, where my son is studying, Dennis is near Struer as is Friedmett, and Steffen is not too far away from my home city Horsens.
I am an experienced traveler, but for the first time, for as long as I remember, I have traveling fever, just cant wait to get going, now 36 hours before the flight takes off.

It's a good thing that the BM1000 is a light amplifier! Well suited for travel So far, my BM1000 has two owners and is in country number 2, house move 1.
This summer with some $$$ I save up from working, I plan on doing up my 1202. By the end of the summer I hope to have that thing on its own pedestal standing next to my BS4500.

Hi Jeff!
Simply put, it is my favorite amp for its sound. The sound is something you would probably like a lot as well - it's a good thing you have one as well! It has a seriously warm, complex, controlled, intricate sound. Every time I think the 4500 is king of warmth, the BM1000 proves me wrong.
With that said, I have only listened to it via a pair of S45-2s and my awful iPod touch as a source.
I have been in Michigan all week long racing with the Formula SAE team. This past week has been completely devoid of any music for me and I was aching to get back home to enjoy some tunes. I walked in the door and immediately flipped on the BM1000, and I was reminded of why I put it under my bed in the first place - it has an intermittent left channel output issue. Unfortunately, I have had to make do with my non-Beo system for the time being.
If I were you, I would make your BM1k your number 1 priority.

Søren de Mexico wants to do a “joint” Beomaster 1000 repair which intrigues me, but in all honesty I don’t know if I am up to all the testing and checking values which will be required. Martin already told me, ever so politely, that I was not up to repairing either the BM 2400 or 4500, so I don’t know if the BM 1000 would be any different.
My Beomaster 1000 barely functions so I can not begin to judge the sound.
While I truly love my Beomaster 4500 with its delightful sound, I paired it with the S 45.2 speakers and gave the S 75’s to my Beomaster 2400 which I believe sounds even better. And with the S 75’s the 2400 really delivers!
All things being equal, I might possibly prefer the sound of my Beomaster 4400, with its dubious rebuild, but I rather like its boomy bass sound.
Søren is not a man who takes no for an answer, so perhaps I will tackle this Beomaster 1000 repair. We’ll see.

I've lately been playing a couple of CDs worth of music my brother-in-law recorded. He has a jazz/blues band that plays around the state, and an excellent recording studio in his basement. Lot of fun listening to his music. The most recent recordings he's made, with his improved equipment, are as good as about any CD I've heard. The capabilities of small studios have improved remarkably over time.
I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.

Yes, I heard the Dahlquist years ago and I was immensely impressed by them, so I bought them second hand. Imaging and detail are positively stunning from this speakers. I now feel sorry to sold them again.

I used to work in a stereo and record store in college and sold them. Never had the money for a pair being a poor college student but I had the keys to the store and spent many late nights listening to them.

A pioneer in hi-fi audio! Did you found it also one off the most accurate & neutral speakers ever heard, stunning! I drove them with a Quad 405 amp, it was nearly enough, they were realy power hungry.

Nice to hear Jeff, like restaurants I believe these small studios ooze passion and love which comes across in the production where the larger studios are just focused on money and turnaround time.

Definitely agree, it is an amazing speaker. Smooth, open, accurate, incredible imaging and depth. Also not the easiest load to drive, it was inefficient and if I remember right had some odd impedance dips. Somewhere around here in one folder on the computer or another I have the crossover schematic, very odd combination of parallel and series topologies.
As for my brother-in-laws music, this collection covers quite a few years, and it's interesting to not only hear his work evolve, but also his recording technique. He says that's a combination of learning on his part and getting better and better gear. He now has some impressive digital gear whereas he started out with open reel and such.
