Hello
Is there any way to connect the Beolab 5000 to headphones apart from the stereo width box?
Can you use the second set of speaker outputs to connect to a headphone pre-amp or amplifier?
Any recommended pre-amp/amplifier/ohm/voltage...?
The reason you cannot use headphones normally is because the channels have reversed polarity - that is why you need the stereo width box. Not sure what a headphone amplifier would do. What about the tape out connections?

Thanks Peter. I'm not sure about using the tape out and I wouldn't like to try it without knowing it won't break something. Maybe someone else has tried this?
Tape out will be perfectly adequate!

Tape Out to a headphone amp?
fergus: Tape Out to a headphone amp?
Indeed, yes.
Tape out will give line out which the headphone amplifier can then amplify to the level you want. The tape out comes out before the power amplifier of the Beolab 5000. The 5000 has a clever circuit so that the two speaker outputs are in opposite phases which allows better ability to deal with power demands - have a look at the service manual - unusually for B&O, it is very informative!
Excellent! Thanks a lot everyone.
