Just an idea for Bang & Olufsen ! Why not create a BeoPad ? It will work with all Beo-products like playmaker, TVs ... A new slim and touch screen remote control...

Or you could make an app for existing tablet devices that can control almost any B&O products in your home.

Oh wait...

No, I would like a Beo futurist tablet not just an application. Something else different...

Oh wait...

That is called the 'BeoRemote'-app - or (if you have a MLGW) the 'BeoLink'-app.

I wonder why people still buy Beo4's & Beo6's when an app on your phone and tablet can do everything?

Ban boring signatures!

People are still buying Beo4 because it is simply more ergonomic ... i think it is nearly perfect, as long as you don't have to write text with it.

Kokomo and others, I use daily my iPod touch 5g and I like it but I would prefer a Bang & Olufsen tablet to use my Spotify. If Bang & Olufsen launch a BeoPad, certainly I will buy it.

I fear the product would be equivalent to an optional sat nav in your car which is ten times the price and inferior to a separate Tomtom . An iPad is a platform for the control interface. Perhaps a bang and olufsen case for an iPad would be the optimum solution ?

I never use the B&O controller app on the iPad as the beo4 is better anyway.

How about a combination?

A BeoPad as controller for choosing music/video (Spotify/NAS/Netflix....) and where to play it, looking up info's about the tv-programme, searching YouTube,....

...and a Beo4 for common control (as we know it).

The BeoPad could be made to correspond to the Beo4, when docked, as a two-way control - showing covers and other info of the current playing content.

Everything is possible with ip-based gear - question is: will it be made, and do people want to pay the extra for it?

I dont get why B&O won't make their remote app available to iPhone. It is way more often that I have my iPhone in my pocket or right next me while in the tv couch. Crazy.

They did it's called the Beo 6.  Has all the compromises a touch screen requires.

Agree with you Millemissen about your definition of the BeoPad controller. Bang & Olufsen should launch something elegant for Beo-users. Beo4 remote control is so old - 22 years !!

If the Beo6 touch screen experience is anything to go by, a BeoPad would be a nightmare!

What would make a B&O of it? IMO there is nothing as boring as pad/phone with touchscreen, maybe a soapbar they are like.

 blah-blah and photographs as needed

From what I heard, the replacement for the Beosound 5 might be a little bit of a Beopad...

I personnaly do not know anything, but Roger seem to...

Roger:
I am still wondering why there are no details or rumors regarding the new audio system to be launched as well. More of a tablet-style than the current BS5... I can not be the only one with access to information from the dark side?

... on this page in Roger's post.
