Hi all,
I am new here and am new to the whole turntable thing so you will have to excuse my silly questions and lack of knowledge.
I recently purchased a B&O beogram 1600 turntable. My next step is I need to purchase an amp or set of speakers so I can actually play music. The only thing is, I have no idea where to start. I was originally hoping to purchase an old pair of speakers with a wood grain finish to match my turntable and because I like the old school sound.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what type of speakers I could use and what exactly I would need? Do I need am amp also? Sorry, like I said I have no knowledge what so ever in this area.
If you have any questions for me that will help you help me, let me know.
Cheers, Jarred
World is your oyster really. A good sounding system would be your Beogram, a Beomaster 2200 and some S45.2s or S75s if you want more bass. The BM2200 is an unsung star with superb performance and interesting styling.

Thanks so much for your help. Know of any good places I can purchase these old ones? I'm in Australia so it would most likely have to come from online.
Welcome to the forum, we have some members from down under, Lets hope they can be of help. The possibilities to find vintage in Australia are not the best .
Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.
Yes hopefully. Yeah its very hard in Australia. I had to purchase my TT from America.
Apart from the Beomaster 1600 amp, would any of the other old B&O amps work? I have come across a beomaster 1400. I have not had any luck with the 1600 as of yet.
Depending on type. Nearly all af the older Beomasters has a preamp for turntable, You will have to check for voltage, Some of them has no voltage switch, and are made for only 220 or 110V. There are 3 different models of the BM 1400, but check here
