Hi

A BV7-32 MK2 type 9321

Is this HD-Ready?

In the connections menu when choosing V-AUX I find HDTV but I can't choose DVI there, only YPbPr?

Is this HD-ready?

Wy can't I choose DVI?

Help needed!

Hi. I have exactly the same Type Beovision. You have to upgrade it with an HD-kit. Then you can select DVI for using an HD source. Ask your dealer. I have done this and for an HD input, even for 32'' the difference is substantial.

Hi and thanks for replaying!

I also had a 7-32 MK1 and before I upgraded this I was able to choose DVI thrue the AV4 connection via PC.

But I can't remember that I had the HDTV choice in the connections menu before I had it upgraded with the HD-ready kit.

Is it possible to se it in the service menu?

The DVI sockets on the early Mk1 BeoVision 7 - 32 are always accessible via the 'PC' command on the Beo 4 remote controller. When the Scaler Module is added, you will be able to select HDTV: DVI-I within the connections menu under AV1-AV3.

The one I was looking at was a MK2 but couldn't choose the DVI from any input (AV1-AV4) even if I choosen PC as source.

I think then it was not HD-Ready. So the upgrade kit is mandatory if you want to select DVI as an HD source to AV1-AV4 inputs.

Mk2 was HD-ready from new, so this must be a Mk1 set!

No. ΜΚ ΙΙ was also not HD-Ready from start (it needs to be upgrated with an HD-kit). Type 9321 is MK II

Hi again

The one I was looking at now was type 9321 and a (NEU2) MK2.

But the strange about this one was that it had the HDTV-choice menu but I could never choose DVI, only YPbPr, even if I choosen PC as source when setting up the connection.

I read that early MK2 needed to be upgraded with the HD-Ready kit. But what I remembered the HDTV-choice in the connections menu came together with the HD-Ready upgrade

(DrDimitris: I owned a MK1 before which I referring to earlier)

Is there a separate scaler module for TV use? For instance, the screen is capable of showing an HD picture via the DVI input and a PC, but not a TV picture because of the HDCP... Is there a part which upgrades the TV from simply 'HD-ready' to 'HDTV ready'??

Yes, but i am sorry i cannot remember the part number. It is quite expensive (around 450 Euros if i remember correctly).

Also, yes what Ola says is correct. The MK II panel is HD-ready. But to use DVI port you need this kit. Before upgrading i confirm that you have HD menu but DVI is not there. It only can be selected after the upgrade. Hope this sorts it out. Smile

One more question: before upgrading to HD-ready, how can I use the DVI for connecting a PC? Isn't this possible?

I tried to setup AV4 as a PC source but it was not possible to choose DVI.

How do I set up PC with DVI on this MK2 non HD-ready BV7-32?
