I have a Beogram 4002 which I haven't used for a while and have just rigged it up tonight and the stylus up/down switch isn't working.  Anyone know how to fix this?

Do you mean the stylus won't lower at all? Can you hear the solenoid click when it tries to lower?

If this is the case it is likely to be dried up lubricant on the drop arm solenoid pivot points. They stick solid & need stripping & relubricating.

I meant to also add THIS LINK (from the archived "old forum") to my previous post which shows you how to open a Beogrm 4002.

Chris.

Thanks for that and the pictures.  I'll take it apart and have a go this weekend when I get the service manual.  I can hear a click when it tries to lower so hopefully that is the reason.  Probably shouldn't have stored it near a radiator!  Thanks again.
