Does anyone know if the V1's are getting the IWS module update?
Greetings Millemissen
There is a tv - and there is a BV
Does the Beovision 11 use an external wifi antenna just like the V1? I can't remember if the 11 is totally enclosed in metal like the V1.
I suspect that it isn't possible to install the IWS module in the V1 due to the metal enclosure. But if it is and if it finds it's way to the V1, then it will most likely be an optional extra just like the S2-tuner/web media etc. Just like MartinW said, it's massively important to keep the base cost of the V1 down.

It might be that it is difficult with a built-in module - because of the steel of the V1.
As for rhe argument that one could use the external transmitter with "the same effect", I am not quite sure.
As long as we don't know how the signalpath - with the in-built module - is, we can't know.
If the path is 'all digital', I would prefer the in-built!
For the external transmitter you must (with BV's) use PowerLink, which - as we know - is analog.
Means: first convert from digital to analog and then - in the external transmitter - convert to digital for the wireless transmission.
My insight in sound/soundquality tells me that one should not do too much DA-AD converting/samplerate up/downmixing.
If you - and/ or I - can hear this is a different story!
As for the costs: if I am willing to pay for the BeoLab Transmitter 1, why shouldn't I be willing to pay for the extra costs of an in-built transmitter in a V1.
Only reason I can see, would be that they probably would have to have 2 versions of the V1, which - I must admit - is not likely to happen.
On the orher hand - a built-in transmitter would be a trigger for selling the new speakers too.
Anyway, I can live with it - just wanted to know if anybody had informations on this.
P.S. Why the 1 behind the BeoLab Transmitter?
Will there be a 2 as well?

Just to point out the obvious.
this technology is nothing to do with the wifi on a V1 or BV11, it's completely seperate.
its nothing to do with the wifi in your house, it's completely seperate.
its nothing to do with a wireless 1 and how pants they were. It's completely separate (thank god)
