I've just bought a Beo1 remote for my Beocenter 1 which I operate with a Beo4. Another remote was obviously not essential but   Beo1 has been always a desirable icon to me. However my new Beo1 does not work with the Beocenter 1. Only the OFF button works and after testing the IR light (using a digital camera) all buttons appear to be emitting IR.

I'd appreciate your advice, please.

Regards

Joan

I think the beo1 only controls the earlier versions of the bc1/bv1 , as I to got one and it wouldnt work on any of my bc1/bv1 and now use only the beo4.

That was what the dealer informed when I called them with the same issue, you will have to chi the age of your bc1

Hope this helps Big Smile

Thanks bramble

I think it is going to be more a decoration object  rather  than a  remote . Anyway. it looks fantastic  beside my Beosystem 4500.

Agree with bramble. Earliy BC1s worked with Beo1 (as standalone products). Later BC1s were made for Beo4.

But maybe you want to "convert" your Beo1 into a Beo4.

These threads in the old forum might help.

Thanks Stefan

I am trying to open both links unsuccesfully. The first link  redirects me to a similar question about Beo1  and the second one does not exist anymore. How can I open them?

Strange. both links work for me...(?)

But I just copy the quintessence of the german link here:

"Hallo zusammen,

3. Taste Display drücken und loslassen.

Fertig!

Jetzt können alle Beo4-tauglichen TVs bedient werden.

PS: Einschalten mit GO!"

My Beo1 works exactly like a Beo4 after this procedere.

Hope this helps.

Reread the whole thread in the first link.

did you try the battery "trick"?

Some people got it working that way....

Thanks stefan. Finally I managed to  open the link and read it.

Tried the battery trick but nothing happened. Anyway, I'll have to accept it ) and keep on trying from time to time.

By the way, what's the logics and explanation of changing the IR beam  and the remote's software by  simply pressing different keys simultaneously?
