Talking about "woodwork", made an attempt to do my first veneer job for my topcover Beomaster 5000 classic and just finished it.
My BM4400 in full working condition!
No recapping,TLC's or lubrication, just as it is...
And I just heard from my techfriend Ipaul that my valve amp 608 is in full working condition. Will post pictures off course.

As my first vintage restoration project I have recently acquired a circa 1979 Beocentre 4000 which I understand shares most of it's components with the Beomaster 2200 so should be a really nice amplifier once I get it working.
This one will mostly be an electrical / mechanical project as the unit looks to be in good cosmetic condition but I'm keen that my next project will involve more woodwork and metalwork. I'm lucky in that I do a lot of electrical work for a company who specialise in bespoke metalwork and joinery so usually have someone I can turn to for advise regarding joinery, veneers, metal cutting etc.
I was speaking recently to the company that does their laser cutting of sheet metals as I wanted to know about the possibility of laser etching / engraving as I thought this might be a good alternative where the original parts have printed text. If I go down this route I'll be sure to post pictures of the result.
Please do, quite curious how you do your restoration work! We can learn from each other, right?

I learnt to solder, at least to a reasonable standard, way before my legs were long enough to reach the pedals in a car... One of the advantages of repairing the older stuff is that it justifies not using lead-free solder which to my mind has never felt right - it just doesn't flow in the same way although I guess it just comes down to what you are used to.
If I ever reach Leslie's level of ability with the cosmetic repairs I'll feel more than justified in removing the learner plates

I was refering to the 5th picture of Leslie.

Again, I don't have skills in electronics repair but the Beomaster 5000 (caps replacement) was not that difficult to do. I did 3 masters now and they are all working
Now the Beolabs 5000's but I need some time to do that...

If it is required I probably need to check with my insurer as they only offer 4 weeks european cover per year

Yep, and we all make mistakes, some justified, some very silly. I have lost count of the number of times I have spent hours trying to locate the source of a problem, only to come back at another time and instantly spot the cause (or my silly mistake) but this is all part of the learning process and you just try not to make the same mistake a second time.
Today I spent some time making some cabinets to sit in the alcoves either side of my fireplace to hold my set to boxes etc, one was a little deep so I disassembled it, carefully measured and marked how much I needed to trim off each panel, measured again just to make sure, cut the panels and then realised I'd cut the wrong edge off one panel (the finished front edge rather than the unfinished rear edge)
Luckily I had enough offcuts left over to make a replacement panel.

And the license is about the same age as the beomaster. :-)

Leslie, next time I come to see you, I want to hear this 608 valve amp (last time it was not yet finish ;)) !!! I never heard B&O valve amp (some philips or grundig but never B&O, they seem to be rare here...).
I still do not like RLs too much but seeing you refurbishing them like you do and after seeing and hearing some at your place, finally I'm started to love them ;).

Nice knobs from BEO610 on this BL608 Leslie.
I think you can also try to find Master de Luxe Moderne / Present 608/609 or Grand Prix Moderne / Present 608/609 for spares, they have all this knobs you are looking for.
Talking about knobs: I see you have some spare parts from Beo610. Could you provide me one of those square buttons (concrete On/Off but I think they are all the same)?

Unfortunately I can not send / provide you buttons for Beolab 608. I have 2 BL608 and also 2 Master de Luxe 608 but I do not have one for spare parts. But if I find something I will let you know for sure.

Looks great. I enjoyed your pictures of the cabinet apart for cleaning. By this time next week I should have my second SC80 cabinet. Your pictures show me what my goal is for my results :)
