Only the speakerfrets wouldn't be my choice.
But the cabinet looks stunning with the equipment.
Matter of personal taste. Pictures don't do justice due to the fact that these cloths are made of aluminium sort of fabric. Anyway, in the mean time I did some work in between before connecting all units to the BM8000.
Sanding Beovox 1702 cuties:
Beogram 8000 repair. Rear (plastic) plate of the dustcover hinge was broken so the cover didn't stay up. Replaced with an aluminium cover. Electronics has been repaired by Ipaul. The dustcover was badly scratched so I polished it as much as possible and sprayed the cover with backlight spray. Now it looks a lot better and ecerything works great now.
Now it's time to connect Beogram 8000 and Beocord 8000 to the master.
But first put these cuties on top of the M150's
Everything works fine!
Now connect a CD player CDX2
Great, all functions of the Master and additionals works!
Next project my Beolabs/master 5000 classics.......

Here you go. It is a black metal box cover for the wires that matches in height with the cooling fins of the Beomaster 8000. The metal measures about 1.1mm thick and there is a 5mm diameter hole on one side of the tabs. I'm not sure what it is for (maybe to attach a ground wire to everything?).

Sal and Jacques, thank you for your nice comments. It's quite enjoyable to work on this old stuff. Today I bought a plate to make this SC80 black box. John already gave me the dimensions so I made the drawing already in Autocad. But if you could send me the missing part that would be great! Cheers fellows, I will send more pictures when my 5000 classics are finished. In the mean time I got a pair of Beovox 2400 and 5000 speakers which needs some refurbs. Lots of fun to do

I do the same with my MFB's ... totally cosmetic refurb :) (and of course technically :) )
Did you use Low ESR capacitors ? (that is the best choice for capacitors and they have almost the same specs (Ohm) as the blue Philips capacitors that you've removed)
Also if you have in example an 4700 uF capacitor for the nurture (voeding ?! ... kon niet vinden wat voeding is in het Engels) you can make it 5000 uF and use 5 pieces of 1000 uF capacitors (Low ESR) and use them Parallel ! Then you make a lower ESR than is possible and it's cheaper and better ;)
ESR is the conduction resistance... how lower how better your components ;) (you should also look to the lifetime of the components ;) isn't it ? ;) )

Cheaper ?Maybe. Depends on what and where you buy.
Better ?Not as a general rule.Each of the five caps would then be of 1/5 of the original capacitance value and each will have their own series resistor (ESR).Basically, it would be the same difference altogether.Think of it as being five paralleled circuits, each consisting of a capacitor in series with its "ESR" resistor.Actually, since higher capacitance caps often have a lower ESR than lower capacitance caps, you might actually endup with a higher total ESR if you parallel more smaller caps.
Besides, just like it's not always a good idea to replace caps with new ones of higher operating voltage spec (thinking highermust be better), there are several cases where low-ESR caps would be undesired or the circuit simply not designed for it.

Regarding the caps, I don't have a clue what you guys are talking about. Just bought the caps at my local shop and it all works, that's it!

Continue refurb my Penta 3's
Finally my Penta's 3 which were pretty in bad shape, got this from reseller Richard for quite cheap, finished.
Gave it my own personal touch and guess what, Beolabs 8000 out and Penta's in!

I'm in awe at your capabilities.
Custom jigs, custom hardware to bend plastics.
So many systems that would otherwise be thrown out have been given a second life!

great job as always! But why did you exchange those seven capacitors? Are those C's the reason for a faulty display (missing pixels) or did you have an other reason to change them.

Ralph, as mentioned at the start of this post the 2-way functionality was not working. For that reason I changed the caps, not because of the faulty pixels. Now its working! Faulty pixels can't be repaired (I think). I have a few with display pixel faults so not usefull except for the remote control.
Same issue with the Beolink 7000's which will be my next attempt to fix that (did that before).

Nevertheless you do really great work restoring those fabulous pieces of danish craftmanship!
9 out of 13 fixed. 4 remotes with pixel failures and dead displays.

Jacques, next time when you visit me you should help me dismantling lots of BC9000/9500's. To many over here. Selling spare parts gives more profit then selling the whole units. Let's hope for good weather.
That's an huge work (last time I went to see you, I was not able to count how much you have... I stop at 25...) ! Of course, I will be please to help you, that could be interesting to see how to dismantle them (and spare parts could help a lot of people ;))
It will be my friend, great fun. All glasspanels has already been removed. Just pick out a sunny day and please, for the moment no cheese, I'm already starting to speak French :-)
