Hello,

It seems that the backup battery of my beocenter 9000 is drained.

Each time it is unplugged from mains, even for a few minutes, "CLOCK" appears on the control panel, but the radio and sound settings remain.

The service manual states that only a precise type of battery can be used.... but does not give any detail.

Can someone tell me which type of battery is needed and where I can find it?

Kind regards,

Yann.

I am not sure but I think you don't need new battery. I think the "clock" appears when you unplugg the main even for 30sec. But as I said I am not sure. Look to the user manual, I think to remeber finding this information in it....

Thanks...

But my Beocenter's battery is the original one (1987) and the unit has been unplugged for 18 months after a move.

It may be wise to change it .

If you feel that way.
It's not important how long it wasn't powered. It's not a rechargeable battery.
It's a 3V CR2032 with solder pins for PCB mounting. Make sure to do the job in an
ESD safe environment as always when handling processor boards etc.
Get the polarity right and of course go gently on the heat and DON'T short a lithium cell!
