do I secure the tone arm ?
Hello andytanga
We discussed this herehttp://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/7850.aspx
Lots of opinions.
Good Luck

My re-capped M75 are my precious diamonds.
Welcome to Beoworld.
Not a silly question at all. It shows you care about your Beogram.
Do you mean a BG7000 or 8002?
There is a red plastic clip supplied with the BG's from new which slides over the two arms and keeps them stabilised (see picture). I assume you don't have one? You can make something out of strips of foam/polystyrene and secure with selotape or something similar.
Are you transporting it yourself or by a courier? Fasten the transit screws underneath and remove the platter. If by courier, there are all sorts of other things you can do to help it arrive safely, including removing the lid. Give us some more info and we can help you more.

Sorry Christian it's a beocenter 7002
Sorry Dave it's a beocenter 7002 and I will be transporting myself.
No problem.
Same basic principles though. Remove platter, lock transit screws, remove cartridge with the guard down. Use foam under the arm and secure to the alu plate with tape (surgical adhesive tape is good or any tape that is not too sticky otherwise it will leave a residue of sticky gunk on the aluminium). Painters masking tape should be OK. Keep the BC as level as possible.
Dave.
Dont forget TLC while transporting.
Thank you dave
