Fantastic, looking forward to "see" it. My dealer in DK had last week not even got any information about the products expected delivery date nor the price.

That is really strange.

Keep posting ;-)

The boom that comes with it is of course no help.

I'll see if I can find the reference manual with set up info

I find the web panel to be very nice.

I only had a chance to add a couple lighting zones

So far I see the web panel and programming differences.

As far as I can tell the beolink app is unchanged.

It's like learning a new language but seems to be nice with the two way on the web panel.

Very promising of what's to come.

I'll try to capture a couple screen shots

I'll make a run at this tonight.

The box itself is the exact same as the nl/ml gateway. The hardware is no different.

The interaction is nice though.

Do you configure 3rd party products in the same way as with MLGW?

How does it work with both ML and NL products together?

mjmedlo:

I`d like to see some screenshots of the web interface, especially the page(s), where you create macros - as Beo said, you can program it "on the fly".

Also I`d like to know more about differences between MLGW and BLGW. You said they are using the same app, so, there can`t be many differences.

What about two-way communication? When I change LIGHT levels using Beo4/6, my 3rd-party-home automation ipad/iphone app will display the changes light levels (same with curtains control - it will even display the positions (100% closed  - 60% closed....).

That`s what the MLGW can`t do. Is that possible with BLGW?

Regarding hardware: MLGW has one RS232 connection, one ML socket, an ethernt socket and mains plug. Same as BLGW?

You can install the MLGW into a professional 19" rack. BLGW is another box - is it possible to build it into a rack? Maybe with additional brackets?

I couldn`t find a user manual or an installation guide (even not on Beoworld...;)) Do you have a link or a pdf that you can send to Lee or Peter for the Beoworld-manuals-section?

Sorry for so many questions, but I think the BLGW is a very interesting product (as the MLGW is), and it seems that many people are eager to learn mor about it.

Thanks in advance for your time.

Received my Beolink Gateway last night. Only just started to set it up but the interface is much cleaner than the old one but does take a little bit of getting used to. So far only just added rooms and assigned the products to them. For Network link products its very easy, turned on my BV11 and the gateway finds it straight away plus reads the sources from it and sets them up for you. Didn’t quite get it perfect and doesn’t seem to have Webmedia support. Masterlink products again, turn them on and the gateway find them and you simple add them to a room. However, you have to configure the sources manually. Still very simple to do.

Haven't tried to create any lighting scenes yet but plan to try over the weekend. In terms of look and feel, its very different from the old MLGW. The unit is about 30cm long and 15cm wide, 5-10cm deep (sorry I'm guessing here). The back is white plastic but the front is a single piece of aluminium with the B&O logo on it. Doesn’t look like it's rack mountable but does have four screw holes in the back so guessing there is a wall mount bracket available, but it wasn't supplied.

In terms of connections, it has standard 2-pin B&O power connector, 2 USB ports for RS232 connectors, two RJ45 connectors, one for networklink and the other for masterlink, plus a traditional masterlink connector. I use Lexcom Home for distributing the masterlink signals around the home and so just plugged a Cat7 cable into the RJ45 masterlink socket and it worked like a dream. Nice not to have to use the clunky large masterlink plugs

Indeed it takes getting used too.

The names are now different.

Now you have resources to fill in.

And rooms can have sub parts... Which is kind of nice

Thanks for the install guide! Interesting stuff - exactly what we need to learn more about the BLGW.

I`ve sent the pdf to Lee - hopefully the guide is available soon in Beoworld`s manuals section....

BTW: I thought there are more differences between MLGW and BLGW....

Does anybody know who made the software? MLGW was made by Ikatu, as far as I know.

Interesting reading, especially regarding custom drivers and two-way comminication. Does anybody have some information regarding the two-way cababilities? Can the web panel display what channel a ML connected TV is set to? Can it show the song playing on BS5? Can it show the channel a NL tv is set to?

I asume it can show temperature and dimmer settings if the connected home system can handle it. Anybody that has tried this?

@mjmedio

A bit off-topic, but...

.... I am just curious, so pardon me for asking.

What is the setting 'HIS VANITY' supposed to mean Confused

WC, BEDROOM, THEATER, GLOBAL and the others I do understand.

Must have something to do with BATH.

In the U.S., the vanity would mean the lights around a mirror, typically in the bathroom or bedroom, usually over the sink.

The Philips Hue would be very difficult to use with a driver, due to its high degree of customization. Henrik from B&O and I have written custom strings to achieve the control with the MLGW, which works brilliantly. I have even found ways to control full scenes and program them into the Beo6 with the scene image. Search the forum for my posts on this.

I don't see the interest for you to control the other room if you have only video ml products.

If you have a beomaster 5, then you can really see what song is playing (already 2 way with the old MLGW).

Maybe you can look at your tv through walls Smile

You probably have a good reason.

Is there any information about the Beolink Gateway on the officielt B&O homepage?

Can't really find it :-(

I dont want to buy the old MLGW if a new one is there?

Does anyone know what the difference is between the new and old Gateway solution?
Just in case I get a really good offer for the old MLGW.
