Hi all
Well, so I have gotten hold of a BS3000(model with Pincode) which I had planned for use in my office.. The unit has a defect laser, it will only read some cd's sometimes. As I have changed a lot of these lasers in 2300/ouverture, I just bought the "usual one" from ebay, which is the CDM12.4 laser here

However, when I opened the unit right now, the laser is NOT the same in the BS3000 ? The complete unit is called VAU1255/21, and has a laser where I cannot see the chip number because of a metal plate..
The ribbon reads "F8 <> 2" instead of the usual "3067 xx", it has the same connector, and fits in the cd unit, however, I don't think it is a good idea to change it ?
Can anyone confirm if the laser works, or point me in the right direction of a replacement laser ?
Thanx..

Just found this thread

Where it seems that the CDM12.4/5 lasers can be used... But is this confirmed by anyone ?
Hmmm, had a go with the CD12.4 laser..
The cd turns 2 times, then just stops, so it doesn't work, or there is another issue. The testmodes show a lot of errors with the CDM12 laser, checksum error and so on.
So I guess that I need to find another laser, or maybe try to change the caps on the servo board ?
Any suggestions ?
So after some time of looking into this, I got a hold of some used VAM1205 units from BS9000, they actually have the same laser, and now the BS3000 is up and running again :)
