I have just bought a new 11-46. Last night after switching it off i noticed that on standby if you touch the aluminum frame (around the TV) it feels weird. It's almost like there is a low electrical current going through it. If you put your ear to it you can also hear a slight hum. Is this normal or is it communicating with aliens?

Could be that the fans run for a while after it goes to standby.

But if you feel something strange when touching you should have B&O to take a look.

I consider that a feature of aluminium in a mains powered unit. I have yet to see completely satisfying explanation, but I can feel the same on many aluminium frames and casework from early '70s Beomasters and Beograms to some later kit.

It doesn't feel like anything is wrong - just a weird sensation. I can only feel it with the back of my hand when i move it across the frame.

Then I'm pretty sure we are talking about the same phenomenon. It requires movement and only the slightest touch. I have many pieces of B&O kit that do that (including my pair of BL8000s I think) and there's nothing wrong with them.

But if nobody else says they have felt the same thing on a BV11, I guess it's worth discussing with your dealer just for the peace of mind.

My BL8000 or BS9000 do the same but I never noticed it on my BV11. I see what you mean and it's no big deal. Could be the electricity in the house.
