My 8-32 has started developing on odd problem. I turn it on and the red light turns green, and the picture momentarily comes on.

The green light then disappears as does the picture. Eventually you get sound and then sometimes the picture. Oddly, if I select picture mute the green light reappears. If I then select dvd so does the picture, but only for a second. It then goes blank again!

Any ideas?

Hi Chris,

On the occasions when you get a picture, can you get into the service menu to check whether any errors are listed?

Kind Regards,

Martin.

Hi Chris, my first thought was that it sounds like a faulty HDMI cable, but then it sounds like it happens on all sources right?

The green light will always come on when the TV is on but no picture is on - for example if you're playing music through MasterLink or using P.Mute. Its there to show that the TV is on. It goes off when there is a picture on so as not to be an annoying little green light!

I'll check the cables then. That explains the green light mystery. Cheers

This was my initial thought too - it sounds like an HDMI / HDCP handshake issue, usually caused by a faulty (or excessively long) HDMI cable, but the mention of the problem occurring on multiple sources is a puzzle.

Definitely worth ruling out a cable problem though, and maybe also try connecting only one source at a time in case it is related to one faulty external device.

Martin.
