Hi folks, i want to change or switch the STB Chip between to Beosystem 2s.

The BS2 MkI has the newer one

The BS2 MKIII has the older one.

Is it possibile to change them?

How can I do this?

Is there a "how to do" here in the forum?

thanks a lot :-)

Hi,

Yes It is possible. I have change it once my self quite a long time ago, not complicated. You will have open the Bsys2 and swap the STB chips. If you have the service guide you have the instructions and schematics there to locate and change the chip.

The chips needs to be "peeled" out, either with a special tool or very carefully with a thin screw driver or similar.

I would definately recommend purchasing a PLCC extraction tool - search on ebay, they cost next to nothing and dramatically reduce the risk of breaking the socket.

Kind Regards,

Martin.

At the top of the page, click on Main Site, then on Products, then follow the link on that page for User and Service Manuals.
