Hello,
I have a Beogram CD 4500 connected to a Beomaster 4500. When I play a disc the only sound I get is heavy disturbance. I can hear that the disturbance alternates according to the CD but I can't distinguish any real sound or music at all. The radio works just fine and so does the tape player that I also have connected to the Beomaster so the problem must lie within the CD player.
Can anyone think of what the problem might be and what can I do to fix it?
Regards!
By disturbance,do you mean distortion?
Is the disc being read normally,eg,is the track display etc working?
It seems like a problem with the cd decoder, but if you are not technical, you will need expert help.
Nick
Hello Nick, thank you for your answer.
By disturbance I mean that I only hear roar/noise/rush instead of the music. The noise alternates though so I get the feeling that the CD player plays the disc but something happens with the signal on the way to the speakers. The disc is read normally, i can skip between the different tracks and the track display works perfectly.
I am pretty technical and can easily replace parts, I just need some guidance regarding which part I need to replace or how to decide which part to replace.
Regards
Did you try to connect the CD to the A.TAPE input and control it via A.TAPE?
If this works, the fault should be in the BM4500 - CD input? - if this doesn`t work either, it must be the BG CD or the cable....
And if you have the BC4500 connect it to the CD input.
Hope this helps
