Duels:

Tynt Meadow English Trappist ale. Tastes like a strong scotch ale with hints of Belgian yeast. Delicious

I like both choices Duels !

And I am still thinking about your recommendation on the whisky.

I wonder how many of us (not me) could tick off every dot ... or all the dots in a particular quadrant:

I think I am doing fairly well at having tried 15 on this chart!  I will definitely have to check the others off...

Beosound 9000 MK III, Beosound Century, Beogram 5005, Beolab 8000, Beolab 5000,  Beolab 4000, Beolab 5, Beovision 8, Beovision 10, Beovision 5, Beoplay A2, Beoplay E8, Beoplay H6.

Duels,

Those stouts and Trappist Ales look and sounds fantastic!  I enjoyed a couple great Trappists before going to the Dave Matthews Band concert on Sunday.  They were great, but I dropped the ball and forgot to take a picture or get the name...

The stout in particular was really good. It’s from an Estonian brewery apparently.

How appropriate that as a petrolhead you like the band who sing Crash into me!

No problem, You will just have to have the beers again and take photos second time around Wink

Tudker, it’s a beautiful thing. The perfect thing to deal with work issues. My guys are amazing. A few hours later and we are still enjoying a few seriously dark beers. And the evening will go on.......

Didn’t get a pic of it in the glass but this was a very dark sour brown ale with raspberries and beetroot. 750 ml bottle perfect to share.

Tonight’s extravaganza...,

Duchesse de Bourgogne. Flemish ale. Slightly sour and rather enjoyable. Great label.

This is something very special

I love the ironic satirical KKK element. Awesome imperial stout.

Tastes of biscuit and peanut butter and perfection.

My girl Lily and I are at a friends house, who are getting married soon, for a impromptu party. They have karaoke set up in the garage, which has been good fun, but the cheap speaker blew and lily and I decided on the perfect wedding present as a set of Beoplay S3 to continue the garage karaoke. Anyway, the beer is still damn good. A new brewery local to Atlanta is putting out some great stuff. Here is the Scofflaw Basement IPA...

It was actually nice Smile

I did not pay $46 to go solo on the tower of IPA beer !

Only one thing to do ....

1/ stay at home,

OR

1/ drink every one of them even if it takes a couple of visits Big Smile

In the Eighties I visited Charlotte NC, and they had a restaurant/pub called Hotel Charlotte which had 100 varieties of beers.

If you visited enough, and had all your drinks recorded, your name was engraved on a plaque and hung up in their “Hall of Foam” Laughing

As an international visitor I had no chance of qualifying Confused

But maybe you could start a similar tradition at this place ?

This is an interesting Belgian. Petrus aged red. Sour brown ale with definite taste of cherry (reminds me of delerium cherry). Quite complex, the ageing definitely shows. 8.5%.

Seeing Duels’ sour encouraged me to open this Humulus Terreux. It’s an American Wild Ale with mosaic hops. The past couple months when we’ve had guests over, no one was brave enough to try it with me so I gave up waiting and will drink it myself. It’s delicate and hoppy at the same time, an unusual combo.

Just the thought of bacteria being added to give it a funky flavor and supposedly each batch is different tasting. Some people like easy and predictable things in life. Sleep

I also tried one of those a few weeks ago. A bit lighter than the normal St S. But I enjoyed it too. Cheers!

It will soon be time to try one of the bottles St Stephanus that I have been keeping 18 months to see how it has matured.

Didn’t you have another buckwheat beer a few months ago? This isn’t an ingredient I see used in beer around here.

Hi Peter Smile

Yes, you’ve got a good memory! Here it is:

(I prefer the Telenn Du...)

Not opened yet cause I’m on the background blonde...

Few days ago I was thinking of you while tasting this exquisite white, gluten free, organic artisanal beer
