As Many of you brought this expensive system- I have been unable to connect to transfer my music. BT have gone through everything, and they are saying it may be a problem with the ports used on installation. I have connected B&O Denmark who said they can help via e-mail yesterday, and still waiting a reply. The message I am getting is check password/IPaddress/internet connection? Looking a the BT Hub Manager all is connected. Please Can anyone help. I am not a tech person, feel like throwing it all out the window.

Hi and welcome to Beoworld.

I had to look up what (the heck) BT is - seems to be your internet provider ;-)

In order to get help here, you should - please - add a few more details....like:

Are you using a Windows PC (or a Mac)?

Have you installed the Beoconnect software on your computer?

How is the stability of your network (wired/wireless) in general?

Hi MM I have a similar problem, my Mac is failing to see automatically the Beosound 5. I am not a novice and the system has been paired for 3 years. I had to add the the BM share as a connected network drive manually. I thought this may have helped but Beoconnect is still not finding it.

i am currently transferring files manually to BMShare.

might be related to the Sierra upgrade? Network is wired via TP link Powerline adaptors which have worked well for 3 years.

That is how I have always preferred it (from a Windows computer), anyway.

According to other threads, it has to do with Beoconnect not being quite compatible with Sierra.

If you plan to transfer larger amounts of music the best way is the service mode of the Beomaster 5.

You'll need an USB-Hub and the following USB components:
- Mouse
- Keyboard
- external Harddrive.

In service mode you can access the whole windows system of the Beomaster 5 and copy your files from the external HDD to the internal Beomaster 5 disc like using a normal Windows PC.

And what would be the difference between that and having the share on the BM5 mapped as a drive on your feeding computer....

....other than that this is simpler and always accessable?

As I've written "for larger amounts of music" it is more reliable and faster for me.

I won't wait for a software upgrade to the Beoconnect in that case.
