I have a new Samsung TV and I have not been able to set up the volume control on the BeoPlay S8 Connection Hub.

I followed the manufacturer instruction and have been unsuccessful, BeoPlay S8 Manual. (https://www.beoplay.com/~/media/ManualsPDF/S8/3511360_1507_multi_UG_BeoPlay-S8-MK-I-Master-4_Web_combine.pdf?la=en)

I pressed and held the multi button located on the back of the Connection Hub until the indicator light flashed orange, then I pressed the volume up button on the TV remote, the indicator light did not change and continued to flash orange.

I have verified that the TV remote uses IR and should be compatible/supported. The sound will play through the speakers but I have no way of adjusting the volume.

Any additional instructions, troubleshooting steps, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Yes what TV are you using but more importantly which remote?

I successfully programmed my LG OLED remote with a Beoplay connection hub.

However, the Beoplay only understands IR which is a problem as newer TV remotes now work on Bluetooth, my LG 'magic remote' included.

If you're in programming mode and the LED doesn't blink when pressing buttons means it's not 'seeing' IR commands.

Got around this by setting the TV remote to a random IR emulation (Yamaha) so the volume buttons on the remote also send Yamaha IR commands which the Beoplay can 'see'. If your remote doesn't do standard IR forget it and find some other remote, any IR remote. All it needs are three button commands where it doesn't care if they're specifically volume up/down.

Also I did this holding the remote directly facing the Beoplay <1m away. From your description it seems like either the remote is sending strange commands that it doesn't understand or its not outputting IR on those buttons.

2016 Samsung UN65KS800 Curved 65-inch 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV. I was able to get the connection hub light to go green on volume up and down, however it still didn't adjust the volume.

UN65KS800

If you are using this smart-remote

https://www.google.dk/search?q=TM1680A&ie=&oe=

Then it will not work, this is only IR for the power on/off.

You need one of the standard Samsung remotes to use the connection hub

Sounds almost exactly like the problem I had see: http://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/23005.aspx, perhaps it's in fixed volume mode.

From your description of completing the IR command learning but not actually adjusting because I think by default it's in fixed volume mode at least it was for me.

Also with nothing playing, just pressing the remote buttons the LED should sort of 'wink' confirming its receiving commands.

This S8 HUB is a troll!

The instruktions says you need to press more than 3 times

So do it like 4 time Vol. up, and 4 times Vol. down and then 4 time mute when you are in programming mode.

iv done it my self som times now just keep trying :P

And be sure that Vol. up/down and mute buttons on the remote are using IR other wise its not gonna work.

BTW, if the led is red after you have done the steps over here the the Hub is in Vol. lock just press the Muti button to time fast then its unlock
