I wanted to say that this option will be even more expensive than the new one, but I did prefer to wait for your confirmation.
It is likely that your service prices are more expensive than with us.  I think builders and other contractors.

But it's an interesting way of build.

It's smart to do a installation yourself.
So, at least you'll have everything under control.

UPDATE

I changed the build again...

I’m adding audio in-wall keypads...

I want dedicated audio control in every room and an iPhone and Alexa is not good enough...

RTI do the best looking audio wall keypads in my opinion...

Does anyone of any other brands that look good?...

I had a look at these... they are nice!

Ideally, I want a panel to fit in a square back box...

I want hard keys to control the music with or without an LCD...

And I really don’t want a panel where the keys are programmable to what you want them to be... they should be specific for music...

Have you settled on AV distribution as yet Kiran?

I'm looking to replace a UHD Atlona solution for something HDR happy, looking at the Opus and Omni, curious as to your direction...

No, not yet...

But it will definitely be over a network switch... AV over IP

I don’t want a matrix... I want something modular...

Maybe I’ll even end up using the fibre runs to distribute 4K and so on...

4K is still up in the air and I hate the fact that Apple hasn’t signed a deal with Google to bring full fat 4K to Apple TV Youtube... I thought I had broken gear until I researched it...

Have the standards now been set in stone for 4K?...

I have not made my mind up yet 👍🏻👍🏻

My wiring issue is that the HDMI standard is changing from 18GHz to 48GHz with the new HDMI standard so I've been reluctant to put in fixed HDMI ports in the wall. I've left it so I can repull when needed at a future date. Cabling is such a pain in the neck and it certainly looks like you have had your share. It looks like a great build and thanks for sharing.

With the constant change in tech it's highly desirable to do the approach we used in server/data room construction and such, don't just install wires, put large enough conduit in the walls and pull the cables, and leave a pull cord in for pulling additional cables in the future. Sadly, the house I have is 50 plus years old and constructed in an odd way that makes running cables in the wall at all close to impossible. If I were building new though I'd incorporate a lot of lessons learned from building such data rooms and such.

Making good progress Kiran Thumbs Up

Where do you expect to be for Christmas and how long will your guys be taking a break for before resuming? I am hoping to be done on my own property in 4-6 weeks time so hopefully just in time to celebrate Christmas in my newly renovated home. Just got the upstairs bathroom to complete, the staircase, which is currently being constructed, painters and decorators in followed by several weeks of snagging I should think! Cheers, Simon...

Keep them coming Kiran. Fascinating stuff. I think you are all slightly mad and brave for living in whilst all this is going on. We extended our house while living in it -  absolutely nothing to this scale and my wife made me promise never do that again.Laughing

If you think nobody cares, try missing a couple of payments.

Same for me Stonk. My renovation has been a year long and I will definitely never go through this again. I have been living here through it all apart from 6 weeks when I moved out for major structural work. My stress levels have never been so high for all sorts of reasons. To think of Kiran and his family are going through, goodness me!
